We were down by 4 goals at half time.

From all reports down from Mornington way i heard BHN had alot of players missing from the ones, due to being rested or couldn't play due to other things on. Can you confirm ruck machine? looking forward to Sth Mornington and RCFC this week cant wait to see the results good indicator for all clubs i would of thought.

Box Hill North @ North Brunswick - BHN by 3 goals. Probably because I've heard nothing out of NB this off-season.

Swinburne @ Chadstone - Swinburne by 15 goals. Once again the students will get off to a fast start against the fashion capital. Do they always play them in round 1?

SM @ RC - RC by 1 point.

SFX at Point Cook - SFX by 2 goals - A match up of two dark horses. I think SFX will be stronger.

Manningham @ Eley P. - EP by 4 goals - Bulleen's pre-season has been good, but EP are brimming with quiet confidence at the season ahead.

Round 1 Tips

North Brunswick vs Box Hill North - BHN by 3 goals, haven't heard much out of NB although thery have seemed to have picked up a couple of handy players, could surprise but i'll stick with BHN.

Chadstone vs Swinburne University - SU by 18 goals, the students to have a percentage of about a billion, especially as Big Fella decided not to go with Chaddy. ;)

Richmond Centrals vs South Mornington - RC by 5 goals, a few to come into the snakes side from the weekend, SM may fall into complacency after a faultless pre season.

Point Cook vs St Francis Xavier - PC by 2 goals, no idea on either clubs being new to the comp myself so this is just a wild stab in the dark.

Eley Park Sharks vs Manningham Cobras - MC by 1 point, similar to my prediction above, not overly knowledgeable of either teams.

North Brunswick vs Box Hill North - North Brunswick to win well at home.

Chadstone vs Swinburne University - Swinburne by as far as you can kick your hat.

Richmond Centrals vs South Mornington - South Mornington are usually strong early in the season....tipping them to win by 3 goals.

Point Cook vs St Francis Xavier - Will stick with the side coming down....SFX by 6 goals.

Eley Park Sharks vs Manningham Cobras - really tough one....Eley Park are a different side at home - and hard to beat - while Manningham traditionally enjoy the wide open spaces to use their run....Eley Park to sneak in by 10 points.

North Brunswick vs Box Hill North - North Brunny by 18

Chadstone vs Swinburne University - Swinny by 72

Richmond Centrals vs South Mornington - Centrals by 3

Point Cook vs St Francis Xavier - St Francis by 21

Eley Park Sharks vs Manningham Cobras - Sharks in a close one

was wondering what peoples thoughts are for possibilities for the leagues B and F...... Ive watched a few sides over the past few weeks as I have been writing notes for my club and have noticed a few key players from 3 of the clubs in contention for the flag this year.

I would have thought a good place to start would be with last years votes (found on the VAFA website still), coupled with the clearances page. Apart from that it would only be conjecture and in-fighting.

If this is the case mate don't be afraid to give your opinions, you are afterall asking others for theirs.

I wont be spilling any of the information i have gathered recently but i will say theres a few down at richmond centrals who impressed me as well as at South mornington. However I have noticed when I watched richmond on the weekend there playing a tall slim team.... any chance the fitness coach down there would maybe start hitting the gym with these boys? South mornington on the other hand look slick with there disposal through the midfield expecially with one key midfielder getting a lot of the ball more or less as a go to man.

with a tilted brim.

What's you mother f*ckin name!

Tall and slim...... how did the RAFC go against Euroa? Im sure they would be hoping that there "tall and slim" boys hold up this week against SM. Fitness Coach must have given them an easy pre season....Big Waz??

I don't think fitness will be an issue for us, especially early in the season.

Whispers also was at the RCAFC game with my customary doona sitting at "Whispers Gazebo".

Was a few skinny but slick lads running around, but definately a few others with bulk on display.
Anyone in particular stand out for you in this game?

I liked the engine room, and very much raring for round opener... I think the boys from the Peninsula will be welcomed with a hard, uncompromising attack on the prune from the Snake boys.

My match of the round; however, will have my ear to the wind, to hear again the Chadstone "witchers-cones" have yet again provided some necessary training obstacles for the 'Students', in-line for their 'proper' season opener in round 2.

Good luck to all D4 players this week... in particular to the 14 players that will run out for Chadstone this Saturday, just remember that its only a game and your individual talents will not be critised nor judged in this thread...

Whispers out...

All this niggle and a ball is yet to be bounced!

Game of the round...south mornington to take early premiership bragging rights with a 9 goal win over the snakes!
