If the PAFC was unable to sustain itself in the AFL, I would hope it would remerge with the PAMFC and play in the SANFL once more.

Regardless, if Port Adelaide folded in the AFL, I would follow our SANFL side. I would watch the AFL as an observer rather than a supporter, and i'd likely do a lot better without the bias in tipping and dreamteam.

I'd probably follow another football club a bit, probably the Kangaroos, but I doubt i'd be buying memberships or merchandise. It would be very casual support. Kinda like how I casually support Adelaide United in the A League, but passionately support Aston Villa in the EPL.

I might, might one day be able to follow another club, in the same sense that you might eventually remarry after your wife dies.
It depends on how passionate you are about your club. You obviously do not share the same passion as I do. One fundamenal problem with this analogy. You can't have sex with your club. Yes thats right, we are not born with a desire to follow a football club, we could join a pigeon club or whatever.
As for the sport I play it every week.

hahaha one of the most arrogant posts I have read in quite some time. I love both the sport and the club but without the club I wouldn't support any team and wouldn't go to any football matches either.

I would still watch them on tv and bet on them but will never be able to wear a "RioTinto" shirt of another club and "jump around like an animal" for any other side.
I love the Saints and if they failed I would indeed as you sneeringly said stop being overly interested in the AFL (why you inextricably seem to link AFL with aussie rules is a bit beyond me though) and follow the VFL.

For me its not so much about not loving AFL, but about not loving the direction the AFL is taking.

Back in the 80s 90s i could watch literally every game of footy on TV , be it my club or not, nowadays i cannot stand to watch some of the games - whether it be for the sides that play crap footy, or for the crap rules and softness of the game these days.

If Geelong moved interstate i would still support the club, say the Gold Coast Cats or the Tassie Cats, as long as they kept the Blue and White hoops i would barrack for them and be a member

If Geelong folded i would not buy a membership anywhere and probably only go when i had a friend visiting who wanted to go to a game.

As was posted earlier, i'd probably watch the Grand Final at a BBQ as well, but that would be it.
