Do you think Richmond Will Make Finals?

I reckon tonight showed you will make finals and have improved. These are the 50 50 games you need to get there and have ticked this box. As for Melbourne, the point was made because you have been down and out for longer than they have despite improving over the last 4 years.

Yep we still have a long way to go before we can even dream of challenging for a flag/being a top 4 team but I think we are on the right track. Sure we've been in the wilderness for the better part of 30 odd years but the last few years has seen the club take some big steps to becoming competitive on and off the field. No way are we the finished article just yet but just seemed strange to compare us presently to the current plight of Melbourne (maybe the first half of 2010 would have been a fairer comparison).

The North and Freo games are pretty much 8 pointers as well. They are almost must wins if we are going to make finals.

We have some pretty important players to come back in the next few weeks after the bye in Conca, Ellis, Tuck and Grimes

Unless Freo drop off considerably I dont think Richmond or Carlton will be vying for their spot.

North would want to get their skates on quickly, already 2 games out of the 8 with away games to GC (no gimme) and Freo coming up... could find themselves 3-4 games off the pace quickly.

Agree those players will bolster the Richmond side considerably, we also have Betts, Carrazzo and Judd to fit into the team (sorry thread not about Carlton :D).

Their last 12 games look pretty reasonable. They should be aiming to win their next four after the bye (the game against North Melbourne will be critical). If they can do that, they should make it, with games against Brisbane (at home), Gold Coast and GWS remaining, along with a few 50/50s.

North will do to them what they did to St. Kilda. Against good opposition, Richmond look very ordinary.

North run home

Suns - win
Freo - 50/50
Giants - win
Tigers - 50/50
Lions - win
Blues - 50/50
Demons - win
Cats - loss
Crows - 50/50
Dons - 50/50
Hawks - Loss
Pies - 50/50

I actually think they will make it at the expense of us or Carlton.

North i don't think will beat Freo over there.

I think the top 5 are fairly settled and Collingwood will finish around 5th to make it 6.

The last two, who knows. When Adelaide are on, they can certainly look like a finals team. Whether that can be sustained without Walker, who knows.
Carlton have the cattle, they have the coach. The season isnt going badly either. If they had pulled off a win against the saints/tigers they'd be 8-2 and third on the ladder.

Richmond certainly have the draw for it though. Both of last years finalists yet to come. Travelled to Perth twice already for some decent results. If they can beat Adelaide and Freo, and not drop the games they should win, definately a big chance to slot into 8.

Collingwood v Richmond Elim final anyone?

Honestly I don't think we will make it this year. I don't think we are quite good enough and we won't win all the games we should win. All is dependant on our next month and a bit, but I'm just don't think it's going to happen.

Not sure to be honest, I think those losses to Adelaide and WC will come to haunt them. You've got them as winning a minimum of 8 games with 6 50/50s, that means they must win all but one of their 50/50 games, and yet you include Collingwood (who beat North earlier this year) and Fremantle at Subiaco, which is a tough ask, probably one of the toughest asks at the moment.

North will do to them what they did to St. Kilda. Against good opposition, Richmond look very ordinary.

North will win by 10 goals, even though you only won by 5 goals, with a few injuries to key Richmond personnel? Cool story bro. For the record, North Richmond games have been fairly close in recent times, I expect a good scrap.

North is big, I'm not sure it's as crucial as people claim. If Richmond wins the next 3, it's 9-4, which is not that different to say being 6-2, which Essendon came into the dreamtime match (and Essendon fans admitted that even if they had have lost that match, it wasn't clear that they would miss the finals). I think it would be handy, but I don't think it determines Richmond's fate, I think there's about six matches which are all collectively crucial, games like Adelaide, Essendon, Carlton, GC and North.

You could say the same thing about Essendon who have been put away easily by Cats/Swans.

We will be close to full strength for the first time in about 8 weeks by the time that game rolls around so would be confident it will be close.

Actually against the Cats we were beating them in stats but not on the scoreboard. 1 goal 9 will do that.
Carry on.

As for the second bit, god knows which players will line up by then.

Same goes for Ess v Rich then. But of course it was an off night.....

No we played horribly and weren't in the game at all due to Dons pressure and our own doing. Was an off night and the outs we had to our second tier mids killed us because we had to play spuds. Every team has off nights the good teams still win and limit how often they occur.

To be fair it showed your depth or lack of and our ability to shut you down. Last night you responded well. Gotta be happy with that.
