MRP / Trib. Dockers shock as Sylvia faces month-long ban

Pavlich's interview was pretty telling.

*paraphrased* Sylvia has had a hard time integrating himself into what our team expects and demands. Very disappointing...etc

Bad example. It wasn't anything to do with whether or not he deserved it because of what he said, people were just genuinely supportive of Des, because it was Selwood getting a kicking. I'm sure even Eagles supporters must think he's a grade A knob too.

No , not bad example at all. Des said he did, Selwood said he didn't.
Des attacked him and got reported.
The point is if a player reacts to anything he can get reported. I am saying sometimes it can be justified.
Furthermore , I highly doubt Colin would just whack the bloke for no reason. Something has to have happened.
Sometimes if a player asks for trouble that is exactly what they will get.

Like his girlfriend a few years back?

Yeah, you took the words out of my mouth.

Sadly, Sylvia has a history of losing his shit when things don't go his way, on and off the field.

Pretty sure that Mahoney isn't the antagonistic type at all.

He lashed out in frustration and in a childish manner for a senior player and he is bloody lucky that he didn't cop longer.

Not even relevant IP.

No?

He has a history of whacking someone if he's not happy with a situation. Even his girlfriend. Doesn't appear to have highly evolved conflict resolution skills or anger management strategies. Just an observation.

You are just surmising. You cannot possibly know what happened out there.
None of us do. I am suggesting that perhaps he was justified. and how do you know anything about Mahoney ?

I'm surmising on pretty compelling evidence from his past behaviour in pressurised situations, as per ImperialPurple's post.

I do watch the WAFL from time to time and antagonistic pricks, (think Ballantyne), are pretty easy to spot. Mahoney aint like that.

Like some have seemingly suggested I feel conflicted by this result. Great he only got 2 weeks but perhaps a longer suspension may have been a catalyst for Sylvia to reflect on his attitude/application and footy mortality. Hope he comes back firing because he can certainly play.

the decision from todays tribunal hearing is extremely disturbing for anyone that cares about integrity within our state based competition

hopefully colin takes the wake up call

Integrity has seemingly been missing for some time at the WAFL tribunal, especially when it comes to East Perth Eagles - just ask the West Perth President.

FCS, he is a footy player.
Malcolm Brown had highly polished dispute resolution skills; if you gave him the shits you got hit. After a while people knew what to expect and gave him a wide berth.
This board is disappointing in how some are treated. It appears many are hoping his demise is rapid.

So Subi and the player should have done a Harvey??

Integrity is when what happens on the field, stays on the field.

This current set up encourages cry babies and mummys boys.

To be fair, it is a different era to when a whack behind play was expected.

No-one is hoping for his downfall, but we all don't want to see another Jack Anthony situation.

done a harvey?

i'm sorry but hitting a bloke behind play to where a player is concussed and has serious after effects, should not be excused. there is absolutely no place for it in our game.

this crap about what happens on the field, stays on the field, is not integrity. its bullshit rattled off by thugs and people trying to protect thugs

Tell Mitch Brown that.

So we are having alternate posts of Malevolence and sanctimony.
You're one of those dullards Fred who believes "no dickheads" policies exist. They clearly don't. Sylvia can play, but he's a twit. Footy clubs don't recruit based on whether your mum would like the player.

But he wasn't concussed.

Subiaco and the player confirmed that.

i 100% agree. see my posts on that incident on our board when we were trying to recruit him. that incident was much worse than this one. what made it more sickening was that it was against a 17/18 year old, who could not defend himself. ended up with a broken jaw. thankfully it didnt effect shaw getting drafted

no they didnt. the subiaco phsyio ran the relevant tests and found that he was concussed. the player has said he was concussed. his team mates have said he was.

it was the peel doctor and also freo doctor that has since come out only today to say he wasnt
