My wife scribbled some of my thoughts on him , but we could not find fault anywhere.
We inspected him 3 times, and X-rays and scope perfect.
If you watch any of the vision of him in the ring, you will see he is a stunning individual.

The intention was to buy an Almanzor , and we targeted 506 & 510.
I expected we would get one of them , so 516 was really next choice after narrowing down from about 20 horses, Ramala included 😢

But you are spot on about the 1600 plus , the equimetre data is telling us that.
I think he will race as a late 2yr old.
We did give him a jump out at Horsham on the 23rd of Dec. ( heat 10 )
Purely education and a trip away, being also a colt ,we wanted to access his behaviour.
He was fine once on the track , but a bit of a handful at the tie ups and mounting yard 😩

Anyhow he is a bit shin sore now and will go to the paddock , and probably make the ultimate sacrifice 😬
😬. I love 'em but wouldn't wanna be a boy one ... unless I was really good ... in which case yeah ... that would be some life🤣

I like his pedigree Harold.

The horse I always look for is the WFA 1600 to 2000m horse. You can have your Slippers, and Everests and Melbourne Cups, but give me the choice of any horse to own and it's a 2000m WFA horse every day of the week.

Anyways, on pedigree, that's what he looks like....to me. The journey begins...... I wish you every success.

Thanks mate , as you know you need every bit of luck going. They are all champions until proven otherwise.

Interesting his half sister by Almanzor has won 3 so far but looks like 1400 see’s her out !

I’m off to Karaka again in a couple of weeks , what colour do you want ?

I've had a bit success with chestnuts🤣

Grail seeker quite impressive in the Telegraph. 4 months between runs for fresh up wins in Grp 1 sprints.
Newmarket?🤔

She’s a mare that’s got better and better, only 11 career starts.
Certainly will need to go to another level in Auz , but surely they tackle something like a Newmarket with her .

You no doubt know, but back in the day those sales used to be at Trentham during cup week.

As a young fella, I have many fond memories of those days at Trentham at that time of year. Was a helluva float trip getting there from Auckland but all quickly forgotten as the sales and races got underway.

TBF, Karaka was the right choice. Most of the serious breeders are closer to that venue and I love what they've done with Karaka Millions racecard.

You'll be seeing some proper horse flesh and will come back with plenty of tips for Sydney Autumn....🤣

On Karaka millions day I'll be interested to see what Aussie jocks turn up. Jmac usually goes for a sneak preview and Blake Shinn was there on Boxing Day. How long before Willow and Damien Lane do the same. It's serious money and good horses with a future.

That stable is on 🔥 .....figuratively of course.

Obviously a trick to her if they're keeping her that fresh at that level.

But if you can sprint at Trentham you can sprint at HQ. Not dissimilar and the recent record of Trentham Flemington is sound.

Almanzor, as much as like him, doesn't do it for me with this mare. He's a bit of an out cross whereas i like the nicks in your colts :grimacing: pedigree.

I think they should have gone again to Hello y and hoped for a filly but they've gone to Too Darn Hot. Not terrible by any means but I think Hello was worth another shot with this mare.

Love Karaka , and just got my invite to the NZB cocktail party at Ellerslie Karaka Million night.
They put on a fantastic marquee that night.
Shame you’re not going , would love to have a beer or champagne with you. Next year ??.

You just seem to be that type of breeding Nut I enjoy talking to 😀

Nuttier than a fruit cake, no doubt.

How about the year after next when you take Hello Victor over to run in the Aoteroa Classic. We can talk about why you didn't buy Qld Derby and Caufield Cup winner Unleash the Beast before anyone woke up🤣

I reckon UTB will run around in a maiden 1600m race Riccarton Wednesday week.

My plan would be to let it win, spell it and send it up to O'Sullivan's at Matamata who seems likely to take Grail Seeker to Qld for the Stradbroke.

21 days in the paddock max or it will put on too much weight and then you have to work it off. Nice steady build up, miles into its legs and bang. As long as it can go right handed it will eat up the long straight and 2400 at Eagle Farm. Simples🤣

As my great recently departed mate used to say to me , don’t fall in love with horses !
( this from a bloke that won 5 group 1 races —- not sure he practiced what he preached 😜)

UTB has you enchanted 😍

It's such a great game Harold. They can come from the most unlikely of places, especially at autumn 3.....and you'd struggle to find somewhere more unlikely than Kurow.

He definitely captured my attention. We can all agree it wasn't a stellar field and barely a race track. And yet.....he was running on well past the post and ran his last 200m 4 & 1/2 lengths faster than the odds on winner over an unsuitable distance according to my reading of his pedigree.

🤔What is he? These are the questions we both love to ask

Your recently departed friend was fortunate indeed. I consider myself fortunate to have been involved with one (the very first one as it happened....there's only one way from there🤣). But 5, that's some good work.

Ah Ellerslie. I've won 3 group races there, 2 of them by a nose. Good times
