Neale is a w***er for leaving then. Should have stuck by his club if he loved Perth so much. Wasted Brissy's time.
Not sure why freo would want him back either with where their list is at. Would cost a bunch and has maybe 2 or 3 great years left.

What are the odds that he's now over the big money years on his deal and wants to get the big bucks again

I’ve watched the Smith goal many times today.. haha I still can’t believe that celebration hahaha!! Bloody amazing. He has genuine tickets on himself. Sometimes you need a player like that in your side. Just can’t afford too many of them!

I don't particularly like Smith. I think if I knew him personally I'd probably hate the guy. But I'm bloody glad he plays for us.

I've rewatched the Caleb Daniel kick to Roarke 54 times and I honestly believe it was intentional for two reasons:

1. For a split second before kicking the ball he glances in Roarke's direction.

2. If it was a pure dump kick he would have taken twice the distance. He pulled that deliberately.

It's almost hard to believe he's that good though...

I'm convinced too. The key is the arc of the leg swing. If he was meaning a dump kick, the leg swing after he made contact would have been down the line. In addition to it being on the inside of the boot, he swings his leg across the body. It's crazy.

The whole last minute I was just saying to myself that we’d concede a goal. After he kicked that ball I was certain it would land in a lions arms. Glad it was Roarke.

That's well-spotted and makes it less likely it was a miskicked dump kick.

I've been watching sackofballs multi-call on it and thought exactly the same. Definitely glanced, and had the time and space to dump it further.

I think we just need to accept that Caleb operates on an entirely different cosmic plane to the rest of us.

Literally a game of inches. The photo was the behind at Lions v Eagles match which denied us a top 4 spot.

Last night the Lions had two on the fulls in the last 10 minutes of a one point game - both frighteningly close to a score - matter of inches.

Karma.
I remember when that ball sailed over the post the umpires triggered that behind so quickly despite regularly checking everything. This photo confirms what I thought.

but sh*t happens and us dogs fans know we hadn’t done enough to point any fingers. It sucked but we moved on. Pity a lot of classless lions fans and a player haven’t had the same level of class here.

Worst thing is they have no legs to stand on. They had their share of umpiring luck last night. Essendon the week before I felt bad for because Cody did have two gimmies while the game was hot. It is what it is.

I don’t see how it’s productive to keep carrying on. It’s not a conspiracy

Went through the game again, honestly thought we were the worst treated by the umpires:

- Libba and Bont rightfully get pinged for the odd throw/holding the ball, but how many times did that slow spud (Coleman?) get caught cold? Five and one was rewarded. First half especially, it cost us plenty.

- Neale throws it as much as anyone, he’s just a really poor mans Macrae. Should’ve got pinged a few times.

- Not only was the The Big O decision against English correct (he’s run straight past the line to block him at a centre bounce, that’s paid nearly every time) but Timmy should’ve got a 50m penalty. Zorko went to the mark and was asked 3 times to come back. Blatantly trying to slow it up. That gets called often.

- There was another clear block at the Bailey goal. That should’ve been paid.

- Bont’s goal was probably touched, but it was umpires call (goal) and there was nothing conclusive to overturn it. The ball was said to have clearly deviated (very debatable) and footballs swing anyway. Horrible call.

- Caleb deliberate call a clear skill error, probably the worst decision of the game…what if Neale kicked that? Would every “neutral” be crawling to the lions board? (how spineless are those pricks by the way?) Doubtful.

We were the better team as that game wore on…if Smith doesn’t take that advantage, we probably go 3 goals up and umpiring overall is a non issue.

By the way, the main board is an absolute cesspit. I’ve noticed there’s a West Coast mod who tries to do the right thing and put an umpires link in there on game day threads…..that needs to go there at the start, i.e. if you’re want to whinge about umpiring this is where you go.

We can’t go there to discuss footy anymore because it’s completely taken over by dipshits.

Anyone game to post this on the Brisbane board?

The Vandermeer slam on the back as he kicked the match winning behind also an obvious miss by the umps. Goal or behind, we take 35 seconds off the clock and can flood back to defend the last 15 seconds on the kick in, making the Duryea v Cameron contest and the Daniel's kick redundant.

What about the block that caused Cody's head injury, was that legal?

Was just about to post this! Great summary from an objective point of view rather than a subjective point of view (and there seem to be a lot of subjective views going around BF haha).

I laugh when people use the free kick count as an argument for the performance of umpires! A free is a free. We obviously have a game style that leads us to getting more free kicks than other teams. On the other hand for example, Richmond play a game style that results in more frees against and have won 3 flags on the back of it.

Interestingly 4 'wrong' calls, but we should have had 11 other free calls for us that were missed! Imagine the #freekickbulldogs rhetoric!

Some big moments decided by the umpires in the 4th quarter when the heat was on with 2 missed calls that would have directly resulted in Bulldog shots on goal and another non-call that resulted in a Brisbane goal.

Interesting about Lewy Young stepping outside of the centre circle too, he is obviously not trained in ruck craft. He would have stopped doing it if he was called on it once I would imagine.
