My god we are setting unrealistic standards. So he has to kick game winning goals from the boundary on his opposite foot or you won't be happy with his performance?

Also goals don't really matter unless the ball spins nicely and they look good going through????

No. I’m saying the 3rd goal was excellent and he deserves credit for it. A goal is a goal and I’m not complaining about the other two. I’m just making the point that ‘3 goals and the match winner’ doesn’t really tell the full story.

I agree with you that we lack a little flair. I do like an aggressive attitude. I'm more partial to a Libba cheeky aggression than that NBA MJ type. You have to back that up 100% with general play. Baz does not. I would be more ok with him doing it if he did the simple things reliably. He probably costs us 1+ goals per game from poor F50 turnovers.

Hopefully it drives him to play well and build healthy confidence. Worried that he needs the hype to live up to and that doing awful things for his mental health if he can't deliver at an unreasonably high level.

Full story also includes setting up Schache and bursting the ball through to VDM. Had more influence on this result than any individual on the ground in the last. I yelled at some of his shockers as well but there were 80+ clangers by our boys. He was not alone and I don’t get why a single comment about a 20 yo kid who worked his arse off in a pressure environment none of us have been close to experiencing has to result in a bunch of follow up burns on Smith. Plenty of Norm smiths have been won by contributing less. Surely we move on by now

The exuberance of youth is a wonderful thing but I’m sure his teammates will temper things if he gets carried away.

He absolutely torched his opponents with his run for all three goals, left them for dead, I'm more impressed with that than how they came off the boot.

There would be a long queue of AFL clubs if we don't want him.

Judging by how ahem ‘classy’ the Brisbane crowd were back at him, I can only imagine the shit they were mouthing off to him. I think it’s fine to give a bit back.
