Draft picks post trade week & available spots

We have picks 11, 29, 45, 46 & 77

We've had 6 retirements/delistings, traded out 1 player and traded in another.

That means 6 spots.

I'm tipping Wellingham elevated and using only our 1st 4 draft picks and possibly Benjamin in the PSD or Macaffer elevation.

Lots of lower jumper numbers available this year.

3, 6, 14, 15, 17, 22

Wonder if we are thinking of moving on a senior player like Johnno for 'Caff?

Maybe poor 'Caff will be a victim of forward overload, but I dunno if Johno fits the definition of any position. VFL is probably his best position, but then could he find 2007 form?

It'll be a tough call eitherway.

Picks 11, 29, 45 & 46 will be utilised.

2. Wellingham, McCaffer rookie elevations; Johnson delisted; PSD Cousins
3. Wellingham rookie elevation; McCaffer delisted; PSD Cousins

Scenario 2 sits the best with me but I can see any of these happening.

I'd rather we dropped Toovey over Johnson, but I agree, if we promote Wellingham and McCaffer and then don't delist anyone else, it's a pretty strong indication we won't be getting Cousins.

We can't leave him on the Rookie list as he's been on it for 2 years now:

"Draft history: 2006 AFL Rookie Draft 2nd round selection (Collingwood) No. 26 overall"

So it basically seems that by the time the draft comes around Collingwood will have to make a choice between 2 players. Them being;

Cousins,
McCaffer,


If we promoted Mcaffer, we would need to delist someone else.

One out of the blue, put Cousins on as a mature age rookie lol.

Bottom line is we have to elevate Caff and Welly so we have 4 spots available and picks 11, 29, 45 and 46.. if we want Cousins we can take him with pick 46 if there isn't a stand out kid available

Any how i think we with reed accepting the rookie contract and with the new rookie rules, we may very well draft three teenagers and then Cousins with 46 its basically still drafting four youngesters and getting cousins.

Aswell as wellingham and McCaffer getting elevated, i just cant see too many most like no more delistings getting done this year

Burns was on the Veterans list when he retired, so Presti would only be replacing Burns' spot which was already accounted for.

l think Johnson still has one more year on his contract!! Macaffer may have to stay on rookie list...thats if we get Cousins!
