Here is a question for div1. Is there any coaches currently in div1 that would be able to coach in premier league?

My answer is a big NO. I guess last year Wallis was definitely a premier coach but this year no one stands out.

Hey Swans, I guess I should have asked my question in a better way, so for that I apoligize. But you are a touchy bunch of posters on this thread...

It was more to create some discussions on if any div1 coach is ready to coach at premier level. By that I mean:
1- can the COACH draw the players/coaching staff etc to be competitive at premier level.
2- would the CLUB keep the current coach or be active and seek someone who has coached at the higher level.

Why do I ask? Because the current top 3 premier sides are all coached by someone who has higher level experience.

I think you make a good point here Turbo. Premier is at another level from a playing perspective. Bigger budgets, bigger names and therefore clubs do seek the best coaches available. It is a wait and see on who goes up of course but I would suggest most of the existing Div 1 coaches would struggle. Dean Wallis was clearly the best coach in last years comp and with his AFL experience has continued on in premier as expected. That said Brendan Bolton Carlton's coach never played AFL however in his very short time as a coach at the highest level is proving that you don't necessarily have to play at the highest level to succeed as a coach. So let's not judge the current coaches in Div 1 until they are presented with an opportunity at the highest EDFL level. Bolton is a bolter! Who is the possible Div1 coaching "bolter"
I'll put it out there. All of you have either played or been involved in some way, shape or form in footy. How many times have you seen or heard of an ex AFL player coming to coach at local level and being horrible at it? I have heard of a few and experienced a couple. By the way good on all of the coaches out there I couldn't do it it would be a shocking job sometimes!

Announced this week that craigieburn will be getting new rooms and pavilion, not sure it will help attract players if they get promoted but cant hurt

I did hear that as well. Believe the new club (out Highlander way) is going to Be based at Highgate after an extension there as well, so this was a kind of compromise.
Are you hearing this as well??

Watched CBurn v Glenroy today. CBurn looking the goods. Young had the ball on a string & that damaging left foot of his. Best kick in the league.
Young best on ground by far IMO. Kyte done well when he went fwd after Cam Cloke went of injured. Will be hard to beat this year.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Roy's captain King hitting Cam Cloke from behind splitting his ear in half and having to go to hospital especially with the Craigieburn player the other week copping 10weeks with no official seeing the incident and then hitting Jason Cloke as well getting reported twice in one game..... Tisk tisk tisk

Sounds like sour grapes Colly. And also sounds like weeks if found guilty

Will have to be ten weeks for sure that's what u get for a king hit and eight for kicking so he will be back next year

Wasnt a king hit was front on but cloke wasnt expecting it and was concussed and stitches were required for the ear the jason cloke hit was logie award winning yeah he shoved him but jeesshh

Given it happened twice and he was reported both times youd imagine a fair penalty will be handed down especially with cam taking no part in the game. I did not see the incident

On to footy kite as good as he hss been down back and he has been really good showed he is at home up forward. Id almost be inclined to rotate the two clokes and kite through the backline

Hey Billy, hearing not many Tulla people came back into the Hillside rooms. Bit disapointing. Apparently they only come in to opposition rooms after a big win. Ordinary from Tulla..
No that's BS turbo they did have a function last night and it is always difficult to stay at opposition club for an extended period of time
it is mandatory that all go in and have 1 that includes coach and comitee and being ladies day at HS it was well worth it

So stop talking crap
