To each their own but I'd rather convince my friends to come and play for my club and build something than walk to theirs for an increased chance of success.
Getting EDS back to powerhouse status would surely mean more than adding another flag to Abers trophy cabinet..
When I was living over that way EDS were the power club. EDS need to find a way to make it back to the top, within the points and salary caps (unlike some others). They have had some good players come out of there so how do they get them back. Dale Morris for one and past coaches with ties to Essendon, maybe they should be looking to network with them.

CEO Kyte and Senior Football/Netball Manager Leslie, are lets say for this forum moving on from the EDFL within days. The clubs are extremely unhappy about not being included in multiple major issues over the last few years. There have been some approaches made recently, numerous Board changes are on the way for Decembers AGM possibly sooner.

here here, he should have not been appointed in the 1st place, he was was a temp while they found someone! he had a bad record already before coming into this role and then sucked poor leslie in!! and she takes the hit also..... life after IK will be better, if he remained he would have run the league into the ground.
next issue is certain members of the board... more of a clean out to occur.

You do realise that they are getting married. So I wouldn’t say he sucked her in. I would say she got promoted because she was dating the boss.

Correct Kyte was appointed in a temporary role after the very efficient Craig Armstead moved to Williamstown in the VFL. Then he magically appears permanently in the CEO position, was it advertised as per policy? were any other applicants interview? was there an interview panel of one?

What will be the cost $$$$. Surely the board must be held accountable?

Thanks for jumping on and letting people know this, it’s all the secrecy BS that drives the clubs mad!

Disgraceful leadership and I hope it’s true he is out the door. Clubs and the league deserve a hell of a lot more

The EDFL will rise again very quickly with the right people in key roles, particularly at Board level where all major decisions are made or at least ticked off on. Fantastic leaders/volunteers with great passion and local football knowledge for over 40 years now, like Reg Rose, Ian Price, Brett Scott and Arthur Crofts would be scratching their heads today. Mistakes have always been made, however in the past key decisions have always been with club consultation, impute and never hidden.

He did what he was allowed to do by the board
Both Kyte and the board need gone for the sake of this once great league
And while we are at it ask who allowed clubs to become unfinancial to the EDFL
Because Westmeadows played finals this year even though they were unfinancial. Please don’t tell Rupo who finished 5th
Another embarrassing decision by board and Kyte
We’re all the Premier clubs that played finals financial???

It’s seems to be strange my suggestion that the EDFL has been run by a board that bends the by laws as they choose regardless of the long term damage being done to the clubs and the competition and no one has commented or shown any concern as to the allegations.
It’s pretty obvious people who post have a connection to their club but no idea that without a strong even fair competition, run by a transparent board, that includes the clubs with all the same evenness the competition is farcical
About time a few Presidents started asking a few questions because the board are answerable to the clubs. NOT the other way around.
Imagine losing a final to a club that was unfinancial

You do realease that clubs have until tomorrow to pay the fees to the EDFL. So not sure how you can kick a club out for being unfinancial

Cricket associations usually require its clubs to have all outstanding payments and fines paid by a certain date in the week between the final home and away round and week one of the finals or else they can be liable to forfeit their semi-final matches.
Football can obviously do the same.
The issue is people on this forum haven’t read the by laws.
Clearly the rules state u have until October 31st to play all your debits.
Also the board can admit any club they want without a club vote. Maybe the clubs need to change the bylaws

Tomorrows deadline is for the final 30 day account. Each club must be financial every 30 days. The threat made to one club by the now departed CEO would suggest they were in arrears for a period greater than 30 days.

Correct Orbit, every club must pay their outstanding arrears for all teams affiliation fees, umpires or any fines for that particular month, by the end of the following month (30 days). With apparel the EDFL cover club debt for 60 days, which gives them enough time to sell their gear. In recent times numerous clubs have traded well outside terms, a few currently still owing money from early on this season including West Meadows previously mentioned on this forum. Potato Chips is correct, not all clubs have been treated with equal fairness in recent years. How would clubs like Hadfield or Keilor Park feel now after loosing 4 premiership points in past years?

That’s true but all a club has to do is notify the league that they are struggling to pay during the year and the league will be ok with that. The only way a club will loose points or be kicked out of the finals is if the refuse to pay or even dispute paying the fees.

The KP and Hadfield lost points the following year because they weren’t financial from the pervious year so completely different.

Trying to have an even playing field is impossible. However one tool was the financial status of clubs. Not to focus on Westmeadows however they are announcing the signing of new players whilst Unfinancial which is against the laws of the EDFL. I wonder if the underbidder for these players was FINANCIAL EDFL Clubs.
