Forget Fisher he is gone end of season, can't kick, can't chase we already have too many of those.

Would make 3 changes to the team from yesterday:

Out: Johnson, Wiggins & Browne
In: Betts, Garlett & Jacobs

Brisbane really have only one ruckman in Clarke, and this really an area we can exploit, and by having 3 ruckman in the team, basically allows us to play Kreuzer/Hampson forward most of the game, and Jacobs can rotate through the ruck. We really missed the crumbing ability of Betts/Garlett yesterday, and they must be bought in:

Backs: Russell Thornton Bower
H-Backs: Scotland O'Hailpin Joseph
Centres: Simpson Gibbs Murphy
H-Forwads: Houlihan Walker Yarran
Fowards: Betts Fevola Kreuzer
Rucks: Hampson Judd Carrazzo
I/C: Armfield Stevens Jacobs Garlett

Joseph to run with Black, and perhaps Carrazzo to run with Power

i agree and has no body strength, get hall!!!!!! for some strength an suppor too fev so what! iff hes a bad boy 2 bad boys in one team next year like fev and hall will give the opposition thinking and draft russell robinson his presence will add too the offensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Warnock and Jacobs are having very good games so far in the Ants. Warnock starting to run around the ground as well, laying tackles etc.

To those calling for Austin's inclusion, he hasn't been able to overcome his injury and is done for the year.

We'll need to bring in another ruckman this week to free up Kreuzer and, unfortunately, send Setanta down back out of necessity. We are simply too short in defence.

Wouldn't mind bringing in a specialist clearance player to replace Browne (strange selection for mine) but there's nobody exactly banging down the door (Grigg poor form; Hadley injured; Bentick slow and hasn't played all year). Having said that, I'd almost be willing to roll the dice with Bentick if he gets through for the Ants today... My first preference would be Ellard - has a great attitude, is uncompromising in the clinches, knows how to find it and uses it ok - but can't see the selectors taking the punt. His size might find him out at AFL level, but his fantastic season deserves reward (hopefully next year). The midfielders were absolutely atrocious with their pathetic front-running yesterday and we need a tough ball-winner to set the tone.

Betts obviously comes in, I thought Yarran did enough though so think he might hang on ahead of Garlett. Would play all three personally but the match committee is obviously against that policy based on selection precedent.

So my changes, without any real confidence:

In: Warnock (Jacobs won't be able to match Clark athletically), Bentick, Betts
Out: Johnson, Browne, Houlihan (I'm normally a Hoops fan, but I thought his lazy one-way game was symptomatic of our so called 'senior' players. Not good enough and should be made an example of).

Well going to be a tough choice between Jacobs and Warnock, both playing very well and dominating the ruck and around the ground as well. Warnock with some great tap work and Jacobs imposing his strength in the centre as well.

Ratten should have given either Jacobs and Warnock an opportunity, in the Melbourne game. Under finals pressure will Warnock be up to it has not played a senior game. Also the pressure will be up at least 20% from a normal game. Betts, grigg, definately in. We have limited players to do the Hadley role and if Austin is injured, no one back for the extra tall. if Bradshaw palys we are in big trouble.

Being realistic i cant see us winning, i would love a 4 quarter effort under final pressure. I dont think we are capable, bc we are not good enough at the moment. WHY? BC not used to finals pressure, physically and mentally question marks 4 quarters. AS many have said, we have to many soft footballers who are incapable of producing consistently in big pressure games. We all no who they are? The up side is that we will IMPROVE due to our young team. As for Fisher he is gone, not good enough at this level has not been able to re invent himself. Like i said before i dont want us to be disgraced!!!!

Usually when I post I call a spud a spud.

CJ & Browne, get a game after some time out against a very well drilled team yesterday, go easy boys, a tough come back game for both of them.

Fisher would have been handy yesterday, he can take a mark and maintain possesion when needed, horses for courses, the crows like to break out from def and rebound, some times you gotta slow it down.

It was boys against men yesterday, with a young team this is going to happen now and then.

Don't sell the crows short, when they get it together they are very good, seasoned, stronger and older. Games & time a lot of our guys need.

Don't sell our players short either, we have big outs, Jamo, Waite, Betts, hadley when you consider his recent form, those 4 would have made a big difference yesterday.

Ratten did what he could, but Craig had the better cattle on the day.

Scotland has been a great player for the club, he is almost done now tho, he is to slow, his distribution is to slow, the more possies he gets, the slower the side gets. Will never stop trying.

Stevens has the skills but has a lost a yard of pace, noticable yesterday against a team that runs the ball, time almost up unless he can reinvent himself somewhere.

Yarran showed more than glimpes yesterday, best Ive seen from him against GOOD opp. He will be a gem.

Kreuzer is exhausted, but what a year.

Wiggins is gone, cant play the likes of wiggins/CJ/Armfield/JR in the same area, to much indecision, and at times lack of skill, not endevour however.
This is where we miss Waite playing a link running role, I dont see a leader or general in our back half with the distribution skills to cut open other sides coming out from def.

I reckon we will beat the lions, we match up on them ok, be nice if Waite was there tho.

Yesterday's game meant nothing. The Real action starts next week. Like our chances against the Lions up there.

Changes....

Out: Browne, Johnson, Hampson

In: Warnock, Grigg, Betts, (Garlett?)

Tough call on Hampson, but Warnock's a better option right now. He'd kill Clarke in the ruck, and give our midfielders first use of the ball. Would like to see Garlett in the side as well as Betts but finding it hard to work out who to drop. Wiggins is probably next, but dropping the guy for his first ever final would be a brutal thing to do. We'll win this one, and win it easily. Blues by 25 points. :)

Wasn't it only last week that Jacobs was the far superior ruckman for the Ants

Why can't we play all three, Kruz, Jacobs and Warnock, Kruz to CHF all game Warnock and Jacobs to rotate through the ruck. They all give us something different, Jacobs is more the tap ruck, Warnock can roam a bit more, Kruz is the CHF/ruck rover/utility type. It's about time we do something unpredictable, lets do it.

It is ok to be guilty - I have been plenty of times
I cannot accept your answer as you quoted the above before abusing him
Anyway what has that got to do with starting the abuse on this thread

I was posting that I remembered him being a bit of an anti-yarran troll.

Would you have liked me to have written it in all nice flowery letters.

Besides, after the names I was called by that w***er in another thread, I feel that tosser might be a bit light.

hampson, kruz and warnock will give us the oportunity to play one in the forward line at any given time..that player being more kruz....along with fev and setanta, maybe we can expose them down back...might force them to play bradshaw down back if he is available to play.

Suddenly our side of the draw opens up big time.

Had we won yesterday, we play the Bombers who have the wood over us, and then either the most in-form team of the year, or the most in-form team of the past 10 rounds.

Now, we're looking at 3 teams who each haven't beaten us this year.

Tough task this week no doubt, but perhaps not the worst result should we get through week 1.

Whatever your reason - attack the post if you wish but not the poster, two wrongs do not make a right. I am over the abuse - read my sig
