The worst that should of come out of Rayner's tackle was an in the back free kick against him, absolutely nothing in it... so expecting the appeal to fail.

I think the AFL’s decision not to punish Zorko was because they didn’t want to release what was said to Petty. I’d assume both Melbourne and the AFL agreed it was in the best interests of Harrison to just let it go and move on.

That is until loud mouth drunk man Mark Robinson leaked it all out.

Whatever travails or issues people have in their personal lives what Zorko is alleged to have said has understandably touched on a nerve which everyone has sympathy for.

Worse is said on a football field every week the only difference being Petty reacted.

No one's excusing Zorko but calls for multiple week suspension and immediately stripped of the captaincy coming in to what may be our final game for the year is way over the top .

He won't be there ,certainly not in that role next year.

Personally i dont think suspension is the way to go and relinquishing the captaincy is probably on the cards end of season when ever that may be
But i think the Lions must do something not just to show Zorko thats not acceptable but also for the profile of the club in queensland and example to the younger players.

$20k will make him know he is smacked and donated to the cancer research would be a win-win-win for all except Zorko

He gave away that stupid free to Cotchin? last game just after they scored their first to give them their second..

I really hope he pulls his head in and plays a great game.

There's no question they'll be flat out trying to set him off.

Which opens the door for someone else if he can engage without blowing his stack and keep them at it while someone else is doing the damage.

What he needs to do above all else is play well himself and lead by example in hardness and attack on the footy.

Agree, other than similar comments talking about a sick child I can't think of much worse verbally... complete lack of empathy from Zorko.

in my mind, the best way to go about it is to just say to Zorko, you take the heat and play your game. Let the rest of the players focus on actually winning the ball. We showed we can't win with the niggly stuff. Let the tigers blow up over Zorko. He is a pest, but hopefully can play through it.

We won't beat the tigers engaging in the same stupid machismo crap like the melb game.

I think its one of those decisions where it would have been HTB but umpires cant react fast enough, then it became a dangerous tackle which overrides the HTB (as technically it was no longer a legal tackle). If umpires were quicker and blew the whistle I sometimes wonder if it wouldnt have ended as badly but that would take incredible reaction time.

If the comments re Zorko are true, surely there is some friction around the club at the moment with the Berry brothers losing their mum to cancer. Sometimes I wonder whether a lack of a strong leader has been our issue all along.
