England tour of India (4 Tests, 2 T20I, 5 ODI)

Yeah but England are playing what they consider 20/20 specialist bowlers, most of these blokes are nowhere near Test selection.

I'm assuming you're talking more about Tests when you talk about depth and England's is reasonably good, no country is going to have a heap of bowlers outside the main 4 or 5 who can walk into the Test side and do a decent job but England have Anderson, Broad, Finn (with Swann) as the first choice attack, all reasonably proven Test bowlers then they have Bresnan, Tremlett and Onions who have all perfromed well more often than not in Test cricket.

Then there are the unproven ones behind that who may or may not prove to be decent Test players, they're unproven because England's quicks have kept reasonably fit and also kept their places so nobody has needed to be rushed in.
i really think meaker deserves a go soon, he has pace and could add something to their attack.

Yeah I guess it doesn't sound so bad when you put it like that; though I maintain their depth is nowhere near ours.

I don't rate Broad that much.

Yeah well Broad has had spells in Test cricket where he's been pretty ordinary, the last home summer followed by the tour of India, and spells where he's been very good, like in UAE last year and the home series with India. Before that he was ordinary for a while so I take your point there.I'd say he fits into the category of being pretty pleased with himself and slips into an arrogant coasting mentality and then needs the kick up the arse of being dropped or coming close to it to start performing.

I agree that the Aussies depth looks pretty good but I guess of all those young guns knocking on the door who've looked like they might have something they have played only a handful of tests between them and the law of averages says that they won't all come through to make good test bowlers but yeah Cummins, Pattinson and Starc would give anyone a good feel for the next few years added to the more experienced types. But depth is all very well, you still need the proven world class or close to it bowlers who go anywhere in the world and take the wickets of good batsmen & I'd say that is where Australia is a bit short until some of these types have proved themselves more.

Can't wait for the 5th ODI to roll around, a brand new international venue being broken in at the foot of the Himalayas, the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Single figure daily temperatures this time of year.

Stunning. I've had the privilege of seeing cricket live in India (world cup 96 for the sensational aus v India game at the wankhede) but that looks incredible. The queenstown stadium has pretty spectacular views as well.

Bitch please.

I'm genuinely interested to know how someone living in Australia could form an allegiance to an IPL team with (I assume, no offence intended) no previous links to India?

During the creation of the IPL, all I remember is lol'ing at the name 'Knight Riders' and watching a few Royals games to see Warnie. But alas Ravi Shastri was just too much.

Thought the Delhi team had the best squad. Gambhir, Sehwag, Dilshan, de Villiers, Vettori, McGrath...some good names in our first squad.

Is Vettori still captain of RCB? Might have to follow it a bit closer this season as I don't know how much longer he's going to be around :(

Fake edit/googled: Yes he is. :thumbsu:

I'd put all my money on Kohli getting the gig this year mate.

I'm amazed Darnbach continues to be England's go-to bowler for white ball cricket. Don't think I've ever seen him bowl a decent length ball on off stump.

Would the real India, please stand up? 0/54 (7)

Am I seeing sensible batting from India? Whoa!
