Test England vs West Indies - 3 tests

Not that it would have made much difference but the West Indies can't have the problems they do making runs and then pick 5 bowlers + Da Silva. In his last 25 Tests over 4 years, Holder is averaging 23 with the bat. He is not good enough to be batting 6.

They had to make the choice to leave Holder or one of the bowlers out for another bat.

Thought so myself, they have the bowlers, why do they need a 5th, and it isn't as if Brathwaithe can't bowl too, in England where it nips around you go in with 4 specialist bats and wonder why you get skittled, if anything you can get away with 3 bowlers a spinner let alone another quick on top of it.

Why don't some of Windies T20 players play Tests when available.. they'd have a decent side.

Who though, not too many have the techniques, imagine your Tim David types trying to hack the ball across the line

Interesting Chanderpaul has been axed, thought they'd give him another chance despite his poor form over here this summer

After the series v Zimbabwe where he got a double hundred he made 142 runs @ 12.90 with a highest score of 33 in the next 3 series.

He then averaged 29 in the West Indies first class comp whereas Mikyle Louis was the leading run scorer and replaced him.

McKenzie made a 73 in the tour match as well, he might feel a bit hard done by.

there's a world class player in harry brook, but man he does some stupid things. i suppose it's the nature of his game.

be interesting to see if ben stokes has learnt to turn the strike over or he's same old.

commentators mentioning the cloud cover yesterday morning. didn't think it made much difference. the ball wasn't moving a whole lot, was mostly bad batting.
