11 Jan 2022 - James Hird appointed as a "leadership consultant" to GWS.

12 May 2022 - Leon Cameron announces resignation as senior coach of GWS after 10 years at the helm.

More knives in his back than Julius Caesar. And every knife has the initials JAH engraved on them.

Yeah you can’t make this shit up.. dudes been away from the game near 10 years, and the sycophants in the media think he can waltz back into a head coach position. He wasn’t that good a coach ten years ago, they cheated with drugs and still didn’t win a final.

he was as good a long form sports journalist as was going around - some of his pieces on the history between clubs (particularly carlton/*) were extraordinary - I feel he has gone rogue nowadays because he no longer has overlords at establishments to keep him on the mainstream publishing line.....
He was a fantastic journalist, and yes the Carlton Essendon articles would always pump me up before we clash. I remember the pieces he wrote in 2000 before the monster clash were as good as any footy article. Was my favourite journalist. Don't know what happened.

Reminds me of Rex Hunt in the 90s. Used to commentate the games with so much excitement that he had the ability to turn average games in entertaining matches. Then he started commentating everything but what was going on the field that he became impossible to listen to.

You've just described Dodoro.

I've said this before, but Dodoro's methods portray something else. He has zero issue identifying talent as they've had talented players on their list both developed at Essendon and traded in. While much has been written about his trade week foibles, that's not what I actually want to focus on.

I want to look at what he's targeted instead of who; specifically, he's gone for small midfielders as the league went bigger, speed when the comp went for endurance, and flankers/hybrid mids instead of specialists. The talls he gets are ruckmen or KPP's instead of pure forwards or defenders. He does not like size or power as a trait, and there's been such a uniformity in the time he's been at Essendon that it makes me wonder a few things.

One: there is clearly a blueprint he's making his decisions by, otherwise you couldn't note these trends. Is it Dodoro making the blueprint?
Two: if it isn't Dodoro, who else is it?

Last year, I wondered in this thread if they knew something we didn't, if they were doing something deliberately, building towards an outcome we couldn't see until it was complete. But since then, they've dissipated onfield, which left me feeling a bit silly.

Rohan Connolly along with Mark Robinson, Tim Watson and that guy writing for The Australian who was so insignificant I’ve forgotten his name lost me with their constant Essendon apologia during the Essendon Illegal performance enhancing drug scandal.
He gets so angry when he gets called out for it on his Facebook page too. It's rather hilarious

The big potato chip.

IIRC RoCo was c-bombing on twitter, left right and centre after the *, went according to character and got smashed by the doggies in the final last year
Had a proper meltdown. Was quite entertaining. A few bottles of red may have been involved throughout the course of the evening.

Like I said so insignificant I forgot his name.

One of those names where if you wrote it, everyone would think you had made it up.

James Bond: “You won’t defeat me Chip Le Grand. * pew pew. *”

Unbelievable!! He doubles down on the Hird to Essendon shit. Then says Hird could be coach of GWS and how would Essendon feel if that happened as they could have had him. He's just fabricating an entire scenario, its insane.

Then the first thing he asks Phil Davis is if he'd want Hird or an inexperienced coach.

duck me, he is relentless.
...what did Davis say to that
