Wasn't that just a ****ing joke...

They are the most delusional bunch of grubs to grace the Earth I was expecting them all to bow down in the stands to their supreme leader.

I almost choked at the super comforting words last night from one of the commentators (they all sound the same same to me). I am paraphrasing but it was something like, “* aren’t only celebrating their 150th year tonight, they have been celebrating their 150th year all year.”

Imagine trying to comfort * supporters by telling them, “don’t get too down about losing to your rival on the date of your clubs 150th year anniversary, because the club have been celebrating all year and they about to become 2-10 to show for it.” 😂

Says it all about the sort of club they are.

A rapper hosts their 149th* bday. And the main cheer was for the man who turned the 150th into 149th.

Was at the game and arrived at seats just as golden boy was presented, and tbh it was a pretty like warm receiption… it may have been due to the bigger all * supported there…
How did it come across on tv ? And did the commentators goo over it ?

More hype from the bafoon commentators... crowd as you said sounded lukewarm but they also had witnessed the worst AFL entertainment since Meatloaf.

I could hear plenty of boos from where I was sitting, sadly his legacy is tarnished and he knows it

The way the media have reported it, the crowd went wild, I didn’t see it that way
far from it - I initially thought the ovation was for my return from the dunny.......

Seen a bit of social media frothing of the pregame stuff. Every time, the comments inevitably turn to criticism of Hird, and every time there are delusional Bombers fans there to defend him. The way they tell it, Hird did nothing wrong - it was the president/CEO/board/Thompson/Dank..... literally everyone except the senior coach.

Outright desperation at this point. Which is weird, cause it's not like Hird was even that good a coach in the first place. Essentially a 50/50 win loss record, no finals wins. They were a mid table side who peaked the season after their supplements program, and were rightly tossed from the finals as a result.

In some ways I'd be happy for them to get Hird back in the seat. Let him fail again and see how quickly they turn on him. But part of me, deep down, just knows that the AFL would pull whatever strings they could to help the tosser on his way to some form of redemption. Favourable fixturing, convenient MRO decisions, unerringly positive media coverage....

So exactly what has been happening for the last 10 years.

At least Vader was redeemed at end of Episode 6. I think * are still on the fiery banks of Mustafar...
Sure, but he had to turn on the Emperor to redeem himself.

Jimmy's prob got another 40 years in him, perhaps, if on his death bed, he does a tell-all confession of what went on in 2011-12, his force-ghost can turn up to inspire some future generation of * to win a final.
