Shiel heading to that Rabble from Linton St o_O

Essendon midfielder Dylan Shiel is reportedly in the mix for a move to St Kilda as the Bombers look to free up even more salary cap space.

The Herald Sun reports the Bombers and Saints could thrash out a deal that effectively sees Jade Gresham and Shiel switch clubs.

Oh my lord...I found this article from the Shiel trade back in 2018. How on earth did Dodoro keep his job after this?

Even funnier was all of his chest beating after the deal had been done :drunk:

As much as we like to give Dodoro shit over the Shiel deal... it was always my understanding that it was Dodo who (rightly) refused to pay 2 x firsts and Richardson was the one who overruled him in desperation to get the deal done.

Don't stress too much gents. He isn't leaving the club. He'll stay on to white ant his successor just as Sheeds tried to with Scott.

Even if he were to leave it's difficult to wash away the stench of decades of incompetence and mediocrity.

Should the ladies keep stressing then or...?

Makes you wonder what * is offering behind the scenes for all these players nominating them. I get Ben a bit because he’s familiar with Scott…. But others the only sense I can make is that playing for them brings bugger all expectations. Theyre so conditioned now to not playing in winning finals a decent 2/3 of the season is enough.

Ben McKay is no way worth what * is going to pay him even as a free agent.

Glad he went to them.

Makes you wonder what is going on at *. Hey guys we have heaps of small bodied outside mids. Let’s go for Jade Gresham…..

Exiting Dadoro is the turning point for Essendon. Mckay is exactly what we did with Jack Martin and Zac Williams. They will be in our position in 3 or 4 years, and for all we know our window will have closed. You beat the enemy by improving your own game, not gloating in the perpetuity of their misery.

Can't we do both?

dodoro hasnt left yet. Supposedly it is a succession plan, bit history shows they dont always go to script, especially when the one being succeeded isnt overly happy with being put out to pasture.
My gut feel is it is more a puff media piece. * know there is a stink around dodoro and are just trying to show that they are doing something. Ill hold off for 12 months to see what happens.

Mckay is a free agent yes, like Martin & Williams were. Is that what you are talking about because thats about where the similarities end. yes he is a big bodied defender, which is one of the many things they need. Though big questions over his durability and the "reported" money being thrown around seems farcical for someone who isnt a top tier defender.
