I’m so jealous ... at least I have 95. I was alive in 87, but I was too young to know what footy and Carlton was.I've seen 8 grand final wins. Its great. But what is much better is being a chance. Going to games and seeing good football week in week out is much more enjoyment than the actual after the GF siren is gone. Its all about the game and games.
As soon as its done its all about next year.
Truly it's very little comfort to have been there in history after so long not being a really decent side.
Still puts a smile on my dial, being a bagger through the 70's and 80's. Poyntens for lunch pre game, tram up Royal Parade. Usually great footy and a win.
After match session at the Lemon tree, Johnny's green, room or one of numerous other pubs around Carlton, Nth Melbourne. Late night Souva at the Twins. Grand finals were a bonus but that regular Saturday night swagger (stagger) was gold. I live for the day, and its not too far away... the Blue Tsunami is coming

The second term proved one of the greatest quarters of football a proud and successful club has ever played. The Blues slammed on an incredible 14.1 to go from a 21-point quarter-time deficit to a 39-point half-time lead. That they did so against a backdrop of continual violent brawling after forward Craig Davis was flattened behind play, was even more amazing. No fewer than eight players ended up on report. But while Essendon wanted to go on with the fisticuffs, Carlton continued to play superb football, adding another seven goals in the third term, finishing with 27 and a whopping 80 point win. David "Swan" McKay was on fire up forward with eight goals, Robert Walls and Davis shared nine, and Barry Armstrong was all class around the ball. The Blues during this period were sometimes accused of lacking a tougher edge. This day proved they could play brilliant football and take up the fight when required as well.
Wow I would of loved to see us beat the Bombers in a grand final.
My first one in 1968 5 minutes to go in the last quater Carlton lead Essendon by 5 points, the ball is heading to the Bombers goal square when Wes Lofts pushed Geoff Blethyn clearly in the back and took a mark. The crowd screamed in the back, the Carlton fans went quiet but the umpy ran up and paid the mark and the rest is history. Were the Bombers robbed? Who gives a flying.Footage exists.
