And being a Hawthorn supporter, you'd be barracking pretty hard for Essendon?

;)

Not hoping anyone wins TBH, i just tipped the Blues in a tight one because i think they'll just get over the line, as a neutral in this game i'm hoping it's not one sided.

Bellcho is sore, 6 day break...slug fest with Swans ruck...he will propably be back v Gold coast.

If it is wet and slippery, put your house on Carlton.

I'm surprised no one has bought this up yet and everyone seems to be concentrating on Watson but i will be amazed if Malthouse lets Hibberd run around and do as he likes, like all the coaches have done and paid for it, before him.

Especially with Dempsey out if you shut down Hibberd it will hurt us a lot more than trying to shut down Watson which is probably the hardest job in the AFL.

I'm tipping Robinson or Gibbs, Robinson would be my choice, to go to Hibberd and try to expose him in marking duels and play mostly as a defensive forward.

Go Dons.

Essendon and Carlton have been very un-tippable in recent seasons with the favourite often going down though in recent times things have been a bit more predictable. Wins are reasonably even with Carlton having the better of things slightly including some beltings of Essendon. Past doesn't count much tonight, both sides are missing a few players, both have players coming back from injury, both play two completely different styles of play. Essendon like to go up the middle, use a lot of handball and short kicks and play possession footy. Carlton go up the boundary/wings, take more risks, go to contests more and kick longer and play a lower possession game. The key for both sides winning will be clearances, particularly from the middle, who spreads the best and applies the most pressure and kicking in front of goal. Lets hope the umpires stay out of this one, this aught to be a great game as I don't think either team deserves favouritism. I feel Carlton's biggest worry is Essendon's clearance and contested work where as Essendon's biggest worry is Carlton's small forwards and speed.

I honestly don't know which way this one will go. I can't even give a prediction.

What I am worried about is Carlton's small forwards. If they have a day out today, things will become very difficult for us. Losing Dempsey also doesn't help as he is very important to us.
Winning the clearance count doesn't do much if our forward line is dysfunctional/bad delivery inside 50s. Fixing that will go a long way to a win for us

Nevertheless this should be a good game, with the Bombers hopefully getting the job done
