Eagles rebuild confuses me.
Are they going to be playing more kids or are they trying to fast track it?

You would think they will have a lot of retirements in coming seasons.
When do Eagles fans see them competing for finals again?
Well, unlike North, we don't believe that playing as many players as possible under the age of 21, and getting your shit kicked in, is a positive.

Imagine showing a non-fan this game and trying to explain holding the ball. Likewise a throw. They appear to just randomly apply it here and there to show you they haven’t forgotten it’s against the rules.
Umpires trying to remember who needs to kick how many goals, have X amount of possessions and what the line is when deciding when to pay a free kick:

Given your team has a fair few players who won a premiership and have a lot of experience it is not quite an equal comparison. WCE played a lot of young players last year who got used to getting their shit kicked in.

We only have two players over 30 on our list so we don't really have a choice but to play the kids.

But you're delaying the inevitable when McGovern, Yep, Kelly, Cripps, etc retire
Will probably go backwards before you go forward once they hang the boots up.

Well, that just shows you don't know the list.

North have been bottom of the ladder for six years, Eagles for two, and North are worse than we are this year. Not sure we’ll be taking advice on how to transition the list from North.

Your club gutted the list of senior players and it’s been a failure.

Pretty obvious

A foot in both camps

Harley and his eagles only try when they’re at home and get to sleep in their own beds /read the west Australian articles about themselves and listen to tossage and Cummings wax lyrical about them on SEN wa

Imagine seeing Richmond do an Eagles 2022/2023 with injuries and still being behind them after 6 years of rebuilding?

Would do my head in.

Not denying that our list management has been shit in the past.
Could have held on to some players for sure but we also haven't had a stable coaching/ceo situation until now.

I feel we are on the only path we can take now by pumping as many games into kids like Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher, etc and trying to build for sustained success in the future for a long period rather than a few random wins here and there.

Do the Eagles think they can fast track one more finals series before all the senior guys retire?

The Eagles don’t have their eyes on finals and aren’t looking to fast track anything. The fact that Yeo, Gov and Darling are playing well is a bonus. They offer leadership and guidance to the younger players and wins here and there are good for the culture. We’re getting games in to the most promising kids, letting the others have more time at WAFL level to develop. At the same time, we’ve still given debuts to Dewar, Johnstone and Rawlinson either for a single game or as the sub. I think that’s better for long term success than just having kids get pumped week to week.

That was a ridiculous fend off by Reid
It seems like he can telegraph it and still get away with it.... this open up a whole new world of set shots for goal right? Only the man on the mark can be in the protected area.... walk up to the man on the mark and demolish him... freedom to waltz in to goal unopposed?

You have premiership players on your list
We don't have that so can't really compare.

Based on today I'd drop some senior blokes and play kids as getting flogged anyway.

It's quite something to see, he ran straight at Rachele and threw an AFL player away from him with one arm.
