Lucky they had our academy, otherwise I'm not sure how they would've been exposed to AFL.

Second rounder doesn't mean a whole lot with points being eaten up by F/S and academy players this year. Not much you can do when players like Gunston don't have the class to demand trades earlier.

Like I said I probably would've kept Gunston and just played him in the VFL all year until we needed him, but I do think culture around players wanting to be there is something we need to think more given our retention issues over the last 15 years.

Needs to work on his tank to get more consistently involved, but he does know how to put himself in good positions. 7 goals (and 5 behinds) from 4 games from a first year key forward is a good return.

The way things are shaping up, you'll need all the help you can get. Given current trajectories Cooper will be choosing between a rising Hawk team, and a non-competitive Brisbane unit.

Morris is a gun and i wanted us to draft him. Good medium sized forwards are hard to get and Logan has a great set shot and plays taller than he is.

the second round pick still is a second round pick. You still traded that for nothing of real value (Ryan is ok but hasn’t even played) and gave away Gunston for free. You could still of traded your second away for another pick or player to get the same result but with more reward. You didn’t.
