I thoroughly enjoyed the commentary B-team tonight. Jobe and Chris Johnson's dulcet tones added absolutely nothing to the spectacle

Essendon are going to get rolled by 100+ in a final if they make it. My god they're bad.

They're playing a VFL side that has been beaten by 15 goals and 20 goals and barely scrape through :$
They'll get found out long before the finals start. They remind me of St Kilda but a winning version. Look at any of the other side's in the 8 and it's hard to see Essendon beating any of them when it gets serious, and your mob are still on the move upwards too.

That loss is as good as a win.

Missing 9000 players, losing by huge margins in the previous rounds, Bolton gets concussed, and they fight right to the very end.

Great work Richmond.

Agree that was a W for the tigers given the circumstances. Reckon you would have won if Bolton hadn't been off as well.

Big L for the Bombers.

Happy with it too. Don't mind losing this season while developing players, Sonsie, Ralphsmith, Campbell, Green, Lefau, Ryan, Cumberland, Brown, Miller, Dow, McAuliffe.

That's half the team with not much experience but games like tonight help drive growth with those players and we'll see the benefit in coming years as we work out who'll make it or not.

It's odd Essendon can put a player on their arse 25 metres out prior to a kick in and
nothing happens

When said player takes a dive it’s not hard to move on

Bombers scores thus far this year:
107 (Hawks)
106 (Roos)
101 (Swans)
96 (Dogs)
86 (Tiges)
85 (Pies)
82 (Giants)
78 (Crows)
77 (Eagles)
71 (Saints)
42 (Power)
avg. 84.63

remaining: Suns, Blues, Cats, Dees, Dockers, Lions
again: Eagles, Pies, Crows, Saints, Suns, Swans

We won’t even make it to finals based on the last 2 weeks.

From here on, the Bombers draw here significantly tougher starting next week against the Sun's up there.

I always want Richmond to win but in these circumstances staying in the hunt for pick 1 is huge given the Tassie situation.

Seeing them stay in the game the whole way and make a number of fight backs throughout it is pretty satisfying especially given the personnel available.

Points conceded?

We have 18 players on the injury list & another AFL-listed player has a suspected ACL injury... our year has been cursed we played well tonight even though not using that as an excuse some of the kids showed stuff, really like Kane McAuliffe.

Cumberland & Ryan didn't play that good it is what is it.

Totally agree.

Though he made some mistakes I thought Cumberland is actually starting to get a feel for the game again at the top level.

I missed the start of the game, did Balta begin down back or was he moved there? Either way he strengthens our defence.

Yeah if I’m an Essendon supporter I’m worried. Barely beat a team who could field a team and took most of last week to beat North. Favourable draw. Wouldn’t be surprised if they fall off pretty quickly.

We will plummet from here

To not do a number in North and Richmond is a disgrace. And says far more than our position on the ladder.

We are going to get exposed very soon.
