Ex Pies playing for Violet Town - Saturday 2pm

Pie fans, can't post a new thread so hope it's ok here.

The Violet Town Football Club has former Pie starts Ben Johnson, Chris Tarrant & Ben Kinnear amongst its playing ranks this season. And this coming Saturday afternoon after your Friday night clash with West Coast we are offering all Pies members free entry upon presenting your membership card at the gate at Violet Town. (2pm game)

The Foxtel show 'The Club' will be bringing their cameras along to film the guys playing and Pies fans in the crowd.

And if you love a bit of country footy 'the Towners' take on Murchison who need to win to finish the regular season as minor premiers (we are fourth and have won 7 games in a row so it will be a cracker)

Can guarantee the beers will be ice cold, the canteen is amongst the best in country Vic and at an easy drive less than two hours from Melb you would be mad to miss it!

So bring a car load along and please feel free to share amongst the Pie faithful.

Country footy is awesome. Had the opportunity to watch Whittlesea FC play last Saturday and was reminded how brilliant it is to lean on the fence, cold wind blowing, grab a couple of cold ones at the club house, hear players trash-talking crowd and back again, fetching footies from mud and jumping out onto the field at half-time. That's what it's all about.

Hope Violet Town and Murchison game is a cracker. And hope the fellas have a great hit-out, too. Would love to go if I didn't have commitments

from memory the violet town pub owner is a mad collingwood fan and he pub has heaps of collingwood memorabilia around it as well. pulled in there for a piss once and ended up staying there for 2 hours chatting
