He has nearly 3 years to go on a contract so he has plenty banked. And I would never take notice of fans. I can remember the crap Lyon copped in his first year and he has been our second most successful coach ever.
Lyon has the best record.
Win/Loss % = 64%
Best by 9% to his nearest rival.
Disclaimer: didn’t win the big dance though.

I still think he managed the rebuild badly. If you look at the 2010 list we had enough players that we should have been able to do what Geelong and the hawks are doing now. A soft reload rather than the full drop to the bottom or burn the house to the floor and rebuild it plan. It's really hard to rebuild the competitiveness and set standards coming from so far back. It's almost like you need a double collapse. The drop to the bottom for multiple years then replace all the talent that came in that period because they have been losing for so long they expect it.

Pelchen says the salary cap was maxed so he had to sack every body....that doesn't make sense. Surely he could have gone back to the players and even managed one out while keeping the core. All history now but he looks like a fraud.

Been over this a lot and you can’t change history but would have been a lot different story if we drafted
the right players

We panicked with Hickey, thought we would get him for stuff all , Gold Coast bent us over big time.

Keep our picks we would have had Aidan Corr & Brodie Grundy ( nice ) 2012

Keep our picks and pick Lachie Neale who was pick 58 in 2011 for example.

Been said a lot times “you have to pick the right player when your turn” ( not my words Matt Rendell )

Can’t look back( useless )only forward.

I really don't give a rats of they rate him or not.

As media reps they are entitled to analyse the situation like everyone else.

Pretty simple, if they care they should take it up internally or be proactive like Burke and Thompson did.

Otherwise all they are doing is adding fuel to the fire which could force the club into making bad decisions.

Surely there has to be some honour among theives where things are handled in house?

Neither of them have been critical of Richo but have given opinions on game day moves. Richo had the chance to answer some of those questions on 360 but failed. That leaves supporters with even more concerns.

Im not recommending Richo be sacked but he and the club have to do something to dispel the wave of negativity. Richo needs to front up and be honest about his part in this form slump, as burying their head in the sand helps no one.

Even with our current list I think people can expect a well coached competitive side each week. Saints fans dont have huge expectations.

He did cop a fair bit of flak in 2007.........and we missed the finals that year.

The drums were then banging loudly as we'd been in the finals the previous 3 years.

From memory we didn’t start 2008 that well either. We snuck into the top 4 on the back of mauling the Bombers in the final H&A round. Milne went nuts.

Glad we've got all these tough nuts in our team now then. Willing to throw themselves around, get their hands on the ball.... then give it straight back to the opposition. It's awesome.
Give me a downhill skiier this season so we can get some scores on the board when we're actually on top in general play. No more bombing it to the defender's advantage. Too many uphill skiiers (or whatever the opposite is).
Dal Santo was protected by the likes of Harvey, Hayes and Powell so he could look pretty on the outside.

Got dropped for being soft.

True, but they are paid to answer questions and especially about a club they played for.

Reckon both Roo and Dal are good operators in the media. Players fresh out of the game are usually pretty insightful

Yep. Crows lost the final round and opened that last to 4 spot. Over 100 point drubbing in the last game against the Bombers jumped us above 3 other teams I think.

Edit: because we defeated the Crows in round 21 it opened the door. We jumped from 8th to 4th with the win. 13 wins got 4th spot.

I did.....

and it's probably correct in the case of the majority of us on this particular thread :D
Ha ha, yep, and if we all knew about the effect and subsequently didn’t comment, forums like Bigfooty wouldn’t exist. Fan forums are for us (tragically one might say) that have spent years/decades watching sport and connect with others who have done the same thing.

For me these forums are way ahead of the media on a lot of things, some knowledgeable people on here and other forums. Of course you have to sift through a lot of stuff but that’s to be expected.

Absolutely!

What do you expect him to do?
You know take responsibility like saying how he fecked up by playing Armo

Oops.

Has to take responsibility so The Dunning Kruger hobbyists can all scream about that he has to go because it is now all his fault.

Remember, we sack Richo and we win the flag.

No really.

Not gonna happen, he’s in self preservation mode. He knows if he admits fault it will only strengthen the boards position to sack him.

Possibly but the board gave him a 2 year extension so they need to work through it together. Ignoring any fault and abragating responsibilty is the worst form of management.

They want people to keep turning up so show some bloody leadership.

Exactly how?

Start punching himself in the face as penance for having a shit on the fans heads every week in those videos. That would significantly please me. I stopped watching them but then campaigners on here reference them and I go back for a look.
