IF, and that's a big IF, Bradshaw was the one that wanted to leave, I would be equally as disappointed with that as the Lions pushing Bradshaw into Melbourne. We're potentially on the way up after spending time in the abyss and now he decides to go? I find the timing a little strange (if that were the case).

I would say that there are more factors than football in life (Such as family) and Bradshaw has shown that he was very open to "returning" to Victoria before.

If he was to go though I would see he was more in the 'happy to go or stay' middle of the road basket than 'wanting only to stay' or 'wanting only to go'.

Wouldn't worry too much as there is a long way to go to get this trade over the line. Must say Vossy is doing a great job with getting the Lions brand out there.

Fev is clown and loves the attention big time. Brisbane might not be a big enough stage for him. Not sure what that will do to him.

You can hear coaches across the country go oh shit.:D

On another note if the end of year trips weren't already a cracker with Fev on board that will change.

very negative shaka have some faith brother everything will be all right in voss we must trust:)

This bloke Voss is an absolute magician. I was waiting for the big fish and he landed it. Now we all know why he recruited the other mature recruits. Voss is only interested in premierships and he is choosing to have a crack. Not to just make up the numbers. Clever, clever man.

We wouldn't have stood a chance with last years list. All the voss bashers just dont get it. Voss is one of a kind and doesn't follow what all the other clubs are doing.

Lets sit back and watch 2010 unfold.

I'm not disagreeing with what your are saying re why he might want to leave, it's just that if he did want to leave, it's strange they haven't shopped him around a little bit more. Surely if that was the case you would think that he'd be shopped around a bit more to see who's interested should the Fevola trade not eventuate.

PS. I am assuming that he hasn't been shopped around because I have not heard any other trade rumours.

We will all miss braddles. Knowing Vossy i dont think he would have pushed Bradshaw. He has way too much respect for the man. I think he might be happy to finish off his career in Vic. He has achieved so much with Brisbane and will always be remembered as a lion. I think he might want to experience a big 4 club before he hangs up the boots. All the best.

Let face it we were not going to win a flag with the 2009 side. Drafting takes ages for players to develop. The only way is to trade like a crazy man and hope a couple players come through.

This talk of ripping the fabric of a club apart........gee that's old fashion. Times have changed. That would have applied in yesterdays era but players know what the gig. Every year there is player movement. Yes its sad to see a fav player or two go but once the season starts and the thrill of hunt begins... well its game on.

Playing the Devil's advocate:

Do we really want to head down the path of other sports where players change teams as regularly as they change their underwear? I love NHL, NFL and soccer but something that really annoys me is the regularity in player movements. While the team is bigger than the individuals, it's sometimes the case where the individuals make up the teams personality and Bradshaw has certainly been a big part of that.

What the hell!!..If this is true, then I have lost all faith in our club!..Didn't they say at B+F that they weren't interested, not happening?

Secondly, unless Bradshaw WANTED to come home, to trade him now after being such a long + loyal Lion is a disgrace!

The headline on Her/Sun website is "Lions closing in on Fevola" by Mike Sheahan at 4.37p.m...

I'm seething if this is true, and feel betrayed as a supporter, that these people at the top think they can tell us one thing, fob us off, then turn around and do the opposite..

No respect shown to supporters at all..

this, will be disappointed in voss if this goes through, speculative trades so far at least haven't involved the lack of respect to loyalty that this would show. voss was thrust into the top job to make sure he was a lion and we wanted him in charge after so many years as a player. that appreciation of legacy and only serving one club obviously hasn't been passed on if we offload braddy.

i'd be more upset about doing that to a club champion than getting fev

Times are changing... I hate that...

Why can't each club have it's cult heroes? Why can't they stay at their club if they want to? Why has the AFL turned into a business? The passion and emotion is disappearing, and I don't like it one bit.

Why can't we laugh at idiots like Fevola and Big Bad Baz? Why, in this age of political correctness, must players act like robots??

Why?

you know what, your right!
look, its a bit sad to see bradshaw go, but vossy wants the premiership and i can bet that every other lions supporter wants it to.
so i agree with everything you just said.
In Voss We Trust
Go Lions!

I'm extremely cautious of this trade.

I understand the desire to be a genuine flag threat. But we all know that previous performance of a player isn't a guarantee of future success...ie Fev might be a big disappointment. If that's the case, our coaching staff must be prepared to be judged on the relative success of a trade like this.

It wont happen, i guess it was just a case of premature celebration for some of us and premature devastation for others.

Now that Sydney have got their first round draft pick for Jolly, they now 'have something' to offer Carlton, and a first round pick plus i'm guessing a player or later pick. Our offer of our two boys won't be able to match Sydney's and Fev will be heading to the Harbour City.

Oh well...

As it pains me to say this, I'm OKAY with this trade. I'll love Braddles forever but I'm being brave about this decision. Fev has double the years left of Bradshaw. I'll see if I can send Bradshaw a thankyou card. All the best to Braddles and Riska.

Shocking trade on our behalf, I was bewildered with pick 28 for Amon, now we give up Riska!! Horrible horrible horrible

You sir, are completely wrong.

So you have arguably the best CHF in the league in Brown (very close between him and Reiwoldt).

Now some supporters are unhappy that you could also gain the best FF in the competition?

99 goals in 08, Coleman in 09. Are people crazy. Yes there is room for sentiment, yes there are concerns about Fev's offield antics but come on.

No doubt Voss and Brown will be able to straighten him out and you would think he would do his utmost to play and behave well this season.

The idea of Fev and Brown in the same forward line is ridiculous. Both players often get double or triple teamed, can you imagine how damaging one will be with that amount of attention taken off him or how well they will compliment each other.

Craziness.

And you sir, are completely right.

We get r*ped in this deal.

Brutally r*ped.

No you receive possibly the poorer end of the deal.

Go talk to a sexual abuse support group and see if you want to use that term relating to a sport any further.
