Fevola to Brisbane MERGED THREADS

I think it was hyped up by the media a little more than it was worth, I think one of the main reasons for it was because we were going to be trading him for less than he was worth and if we did that with you guys it would give you a very good chance of a flag.

But in blocking us out of negotiations you never really got to see what we were prepared to give up. Fevola nominated Collingwood as his club of choice, yet Swann said a trade between the clubs wouldn't happen unless we met your demands and then some, which effectively was the end of Fevola to Collingwood.

I'm not sure we wouldn't have been able to provide you 2 better options.

the fact that no-one wants to trade with Collingwood

You read the Herald-Sun too much.

A player's manager using Collingwood as leverage in the media doesn't consititute Collingwood not trading with anyone. Until 2 days, Collingwood had no interest in Luke Ball.

Come 24 hours later his playing manager had used a directive that he was seeking to be traded to Collingwood. I'll give you some slack, you seemed entranced by the myth that is trading.

Or you could look back and dwell on it during another decade of disappointment?

Think about it.
What have Essendon won in their decade of success with a sniper as their Captain?

I'd put money on Bradshaw kicking more goals than Jay Neagle next year.

The Bombers have to replace the 76 goals Lloyd, Lucas and Lovett kicked with pick 16 in a weak draft.

Ouch.

Greg Swan's feud with Eddie has mortgaged his own club's future IMO.

There is no feud between Swann and Eddie Everywhere...

The feud is between Carlton and Collingwood...

You are a bunch of feral bottom feeding scum suckers and we are not dealing with your shit club...

happy to get bradshaw, a proven goal kicker with plenty of experience. sure he is oldish, but the club needs to now work on a long term replcement whilst he is still there.

the pies didnt have anything to offer, simple as that.

Luke Ball identified a shithouse midfield that he could walk into and nominated you guys. Congratulations on getting the tick of approval from a guy who's been surpassed by the modern game.

Collingwood are a bunch of deluded ****wits that over rate their dud players and constantly miss out on snaring big name players, you've just cost yourselves another flag by missing out on Fevola. And you are probably the most deluded ****wit of the lot. Piss off back to Bay 13 where you belong.

Its backwards because the deal suck big big time a fringe player with someone who leg can fall off any minute there has to be a first round pick included at least and that's a minimum.

You have no idea how these 2 guys are gonna present. Bradshaw has had a knee recon last off season and stilled kicked 50. For all we know he could give us 2 good years until we have groomed a replacement. By all accounts Ris is a good in and under mid and along with Mclean will release Judd and Murph to do more damage on the burst. Can't see too much wrong with that senario which is no less valid than yours, considering no one knows for sure what will happen anyway.

We must remember that football is a business. The key to business decisions is to make sure that the brain overrules the heart.

I sympathise with the many Fev fans out there. He's a loveable bastard, but from all reports he was a bad influence on the team morale and an especially poor influence on our young guns.

Putting all emotion aside, let's look at the trade (this is totally subjective, but it is a start):

100 points being the highest score.

Fev's on field influence: Goals = +90; team structure = -25; total = +65
Fev's off field influence: -100; total = -100

Bradshaw's on field influence: Goals = +25; team structre = +50; total = +75
Bradshaw's off field influence (including future coaching prospects) = +50

Rischetelli: +25 (I watch a lot of Lions games as I live in Brisbane, and whilst not a gun he is easily in our best 22) +50

Total: +65 - 100 + 75 + 50 + 50 = +140!

Massive win for the Blues.

carltons number one rule 4 trading is if you can't play 100 games 4 the blues we are not interested. Why the change its just a quick fix.

There is an old saying in footy, you trade for show & trade for dough. People place too much importance on trading & this week is a prime example.

With the current comprimized drafts coming up, holding onto draft picks this year is even more important. Either way, Greg Swan has let a personal fued interfere with a business decision.

Not sound practise (Brisbane have won this trade 70/30).

Forgetting your jealousy for a minute you should look at your own club

Think about why you have never landed a big fish

And this feud you keep talking about.....it's all in your mind.....i know you need someone to blame though

It could be worse. We had to give away Cuz for nothing at the same time as losing Judd...

Nah... you had to get rid of Cuz because he was a drug addict and it looked like he had just been busted and was about to bring the club into disrepute and end up costing the club all their draft picks plus financial penalties.

Then there was his 5 missing days which ended up with his arriving in a hospital as a suspected cocaine od...

If you think that the west coke e-girls just gave him away you are deluded...

it is a fair point to make. but we lose goals and experience with fev. he was one of the older players in the group.

bradshaw gives us that experience, especially in finals. and it may be a quick fix with a young player developing next to him next season. who knows what the club has in mind.

Rischitelli is no star and Bradshaw is one of the oldest forwards going around.

We lose the best FF in the comp.

Shit has happened and we have to take whatever we can get :(

Would much rather deal with Brisbane than Collingwood and Rischitelli and Bradshaw (even for a year) is a lot better than taking a punt on #14 and sending him to Collingwood or sweating on a Jolly deal and getting the same pick from Sydney.

I would have been prepared to take Jolly

You watch clubs start to panic now we have a firm offer. I expect counter-offers are being put together as we speak.

Can hope that CFC at least waits until the end of tomorrow to decide

Since when did Parrot support the Pies?

She might?

wont be playing finals without fev! simple as that!

I can't see why everyone is making such a big fuss, the deal hasn't been finalised yet. All 3 players have to agree to this deal and IMO that won't happen.

Just like the Campbell Brown deal didn't happen today, this one won't happen either.

At first I was absoultely livid that we're losing Fev, but obviously he has done something very wrong to upset the team. If this deal does end up going through, we are probably getting the rough end of the deal but if Fev needs to go and it's the best we can get why not do it?

This could be one of the most absurd pieces of analysis I've ever seen. How does Fev's off field influence = -100%?

Add Fev's 1 percenters and goal assists +50
Add Fev's popularity with membership +80
Add increased sales and sponsorship with popular player +50

etc etc

mate the guys 31- to be honest I wouldnt care if he averaged 6 goals a game last year- what will he do for us? "provide support for the younger guys"- I dont want that I want to build a premiership team.

Bradshaw cant be worth that much more than Hall who went for a 3rd round pick, so basically we got a 3rd/late 2nd round pick and risha for Fevola- the guy who has kicked 190 goals in two years!!!!!!

Did Brisbane offer there first pick. No. Any player of substance Drummond/ Leunberger/ Adcock even Merrett. No......

We have had our pants pulled down and have had a 14 inch dildo stuck up are asses........
Anyone that can honestly justify this trade is dilusional

He is 30 yo and will support Kruez etc.

Exactly. A steaming, nauseating pile of crap amidst a festering cesspool.

Re: Fevola to Brisbane for Bradshaw + Rischitelli??

Terrible deal!

Pre-trade talks are that Bradshaw's injury concerns are a worry.

Plus, he does all his work with defenders being distracted by J Brown.

Plus, he's 31 next year!!!!

Stock that up against a forward line of Brown and Fevola!

God help us. We're just about to hand Brisbane a premiership in the next two years.

We'll have a declining forward without any backup in the forward 50 wasting our premiership window.

Very, very smart work as usual Michael Voss.

Watch footy much do you?

I've seen Bradshaw tear defences apart(Gee...who was it that won the EF for BL against us???) and as for Rischitelli he goes very well thanks very much.
I'll be happy to get one season out of Bradshaw!

Bye Fev you can crack the sads in a BL jumper from now on

is this the best we can do?

I think we should wait and see if anything else comes up before we decide.

I would rather o'keefe from sydney and pick 14 or even second round pick.

Bradshaw could start getting injured next year as he is 31. My mate who is a big supporter of the Lions said Rischatelli is no good, that worries me cause he always watches them and knows his stuff.

hopefully the Jolly trade happens and then the Swans make an offer.

The other one I would take is Fev straight swap for Burgoyne. Imagine the midfield we would have! We wouldn't need KF just like the Eagles when they had all guns firing.

you sound like the ******** in actual fact. dud players? shit midfield? but good enough for the top 4 though

ball has identified a club with a terrific structure that is well placed for success over the next 5-7 years due to the sensational young talent they have drafted and developed over the last few years. ball doesn't want to spend the last 5-7 years of his career at a club with no immediate flag prospects (eg carlton) having just tasted a grand final with the saints. he will complement the pies midfield beautifully

Re: Fevola to Brisbane for Bradshaw + Rischitelli??

Just wondering whether they could play in the same team?

Fev likes to be THE MAN on the forward line, which could mean messy traffic on the Brissy forward line
hat

I've thought about that too mate.
All these years Fev has had the 50 to himself. How is he going to go when the first target the Lions player will be looking for is their captain!
Lets see Vossy's face when Fev cracks the sooks!
