Fevola to Brisbane MERGED THREADS

Two things parrot...

1. Selection #14 was always going to be used to get Jolly from Sydney, which has now happened.

2. If that trade had not gone through, how can you be sure that Collingwood would have been prepared to use that to get Fevola?

As I keep repeating, all we have had in relation to Collingwood & Sydney is media speculation. We actually have an offer from Brisbane for Fevola.

With such a poor offer, the Club should just consider keeping him with an extended suspension. The suspension will send a strong signal. I know Fev went a "little" mad when he got drunk at the Brownlow, and offended about 550 people in record time, but this guy is the best FF in the AFL by miles. And off the piss he's a decent guy, he just goes mad on the grog. If we're getting next to zip, why not just keep him and suspend him for 6 months or so. Will give him a chance to take a break and sort his issues out. Seems crazy to dump a guy for zip when he's hitting his prime right when we're pushing for a flag. We are giving away the best FF in the game to our competition. Voss obviously thinks he's getting a massive bargain, and he's dead right. You can bet Voss is laughing at us over this deal. :)

Without Fev there our spine looks drastically worse.

He really was a shining light in the spine and forward line and has been my favourite player for years, i will miss him massively.

Bradshaws body looks shot and why add Rischitelli who will just add Depth, he is not ahead of Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Simpson, Mclean. So he would be our 6th best midfielder. Our Midfield was good enough this year and most will agree and our Forwards line was good too but not great, yet we trade out a blue chip forward and grab more midfielders. Utter Stupidity if it goes through which looks likely.

Good result !

We completed the trade.

The althernative to this was wait for Collingwood and Syndey...which would have maybe meant a Friday 2 pm offer take it or leave it.

Everyone has till tomorrow morning.

The trade will go ahead as is as things stand.

We get a forward and another hard working midfielder which means now we have the midfield strength and rotation s good as anyones.

and the Fev virus is gone.. which means alot of relieved players and officials.

there has to be a draft pick included? no?

Fev still going to Sydney mate??????

If it is Brissy... this is it.

The clubs main concern was to move Fev on... at the moment it looks like he has been moved on.

There are alot of relieved people around the club .

also theyre happy with the hardworking Riscitelli and the forward Bradshaw.

Our midfield strenth with McLean and Rischitelli added to what we already have and whats developing means we should be awesome through the middle.

The Fev situation is regrettable but had to be made.

I think you have summed it up perfectly

That's what PA's are for :thumbsu:

That still doesn't change the fact you have no idea on what makes football clubs tick.

Perhaps we could ask Pratts Cheese and Kisses for a donation to keep him.

You honestly think the club would go broke if we keep the most exciting player in the comp???

Memberships, big crowds, on field success, block buster games, AAs, Colemans, TV ratings are all things Fev brings to a club.....this things help clubs tick.

The best approach would have been to hang onto ALL our draft picks, and use them on KP forward talent.

You don't think the recruiters might have been consulted on this??? And maybe our actions indicate there wasn't a lot of confidence in the KPP talent around that mark?? Especially 27. You are parrot though, I'm sure you know the best approach :)

OK Fev is gone - deal with it
we now have 2 quality players instead
Fantastic
Onwards and upwards!
Well done CFC
Fev should never have landed the club in this pickle to start with

It might be a bit premature, but this pic is on the front page of the HUN website

Fev also brings a bad attitude, bad publicity, bad influence on younger players, an average game plan focused on one player.

The CLUB is all the better for getting rid of Fevola the virus.

My memory is a good one and I remember ALL of the time Fev has been here and his attitude to our club and its rules over the years.

Too many people are looking at too small a sample of what he has actually contributed to our club.

We had memberships, big crowds, on field success, block buster games, AAs, Colemans, TV ratingslong before one Brendan Fevola came along.

And we will long after he's gone.

Its cause of Ratten we are hording all these midfielders, downhill from here guys. Whats our forward line, Bradshaw, O'hailpin Fisher Cloke Garlett Betts, and some of these guys might not even survive trade week to choose from! Now we got gaps to feel in the back and gaps to feel in the Front. Uts easy to find midfeilders if we have no forwards to kick them too then what we are shooting blanks.

BigFooty just got a whole lot sexier

what happened to carltons youth policy?

Disappeared along with the club's common sense! So much for the "only drafting players aged 24 and under" policy.

In 2012 Bradshaw will be retired, Rischitelli will be delisted and Fev will be on track for another 70+ goal season for the Lions.

Even more worrying is the fact this deal will only go through if Carlton contribute a large chunk, say $300k, towards his salary.

I can see a situation where under the cap in 2010 & 2011 we are paying $300k of Fev's wage each season + Bradshaw ($400k?) + Rischitelli ($200k?) = total 2 year spend of $1.8mil, versus keeping Fev and getting the Veterans List discount in 2011 and him costing say $1mil-1.1mil over the same period. Does anyone in their right mind seriously think we can't do with that salary cap saving?

To those claiming the "principle" argument as why we have to get rid of Fev. Do you think Bryce Gibbs will accept "principles" instead of $$$ when the Adelaide Crows offer huge money to him to go home in the next couple of years? Money that Carlton will not have because of this insane Fevola trade. If Gibbs or any of our other young guns go in the next few years due to a lack of cash the "trade Fev" camp will have blood on its hands.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a player and on talent alone he deserves to be remembered as a Carlton Champion, as a fan favourite we would've loved to have seen him carried off the MCG as a one club Carlton Legend with a premiership medal to his name.

As much as it hurts to see him in another jumper and it wont get any easier as he kicks bags and gets the lions close to a flag with J Brown in what will be one of the best CHF FF combinations of all time, Brendan has only himself to blame, he was given chance after chance and he must've done some seriously bad shit to people involved with us at the Brownlow for it to get to this!!

Its a sad day for the club and alot of supporters, a champion of our club has put himself in this position, the club has been set back because of it, those that are rejoicing that this has happened are a disgrace, this is not what we needed, not ever, not now!

Good luck to Fev, the only great 25s to ever wear the Carlton jumper have both left in interesting and nt ideal circumstances. As Jezza is remembered as a Carlton Legend so will Fev in time! Good luck to the big fella and his family i'll definitely miss him!
