So we get Joel McDonald instead?

I've heard from another (very good) source that Rischitelli is quite receptive to a move back to Melbourne, happy to stay, happy to go.

Make of that what you will.

Why can't we just get all four!
Don't want Hooper but would take the other 3. It's only fair.

Will give them #43 to throw in the 3rd player. They can rent a house together. :)

Our depth suddenly got bigger if we can do that. We have enough players we can delist as these guys are definitely upgrades.

heard that too.

cant help but feel sorry for bradshaw...kinda been thrown out in the cold by the club he has given so much to.

If this is the best deal we can do then so be it, but I personally will be very disapointed that we have not been able to get ourselves back into the 1st rnd of the draft. We really really need YOUNG KPP's.

Henderson instead of Bradshaw?
Still a lot of options still open, Swannies put in a counter offer, the Lions try and top it, or its still possible that that Fev will remain a Blue !!

Also receptive to a move. He always has been, throughout his whole career. Has been a right battle to keep him at times.

The amount of keyboard CEO's in here is amusing. FFS IF there was any possibility of getting a better deal from Sydney, I am fairly confident that our management would explore that option. Which means two things:

1. There has been an offer from Brisbane, which we are considering subject to other options; or
2. Sydney have not expressed an interest in Fev at all.

Settle down you muppets and get behind the club. These are the people that landed us Judd. And if fev leaves for 25c in the dollar, blame Fev.

yup :thumbsu:

The best part about this is that WE DONT HAVE TO PAY FEV A CENT !!

More room in the cap for us to move (1.4 million over the next 2 years :)) to entice some more players over to the mighty Blues !!!!

Thanks Fev :)

To those criticising this move... Next year when we have the most dominant midfield in the history of the AFL, all you muppets will jump back on the bandwaggon, and frankly I don't want you.

Our Football Departments Knowledge >>>>>>>>>>>>> Your Opinion.

And bundled out in the elimination final coz of no one to kick it to...

Happy that we don't have to pay any of Fev's contract, but personally I would of prefered to pay a chunk of it and get a better offer. But who am I to know whats better.
Seems that after the annoucement came out that Sydney accepted Pick 14 and 46 for Jolly. After puffing their chest out all week saying he is worth way more that 14, they have only accepted pick 46 where they now have 6 picks in the top 50.
Seems rushed to me, I await Sydney's offer tomorrow.

I think I see whats happening. Swan is getting the Brissy boys salivating at the prospect of having a forward line of Brown/Fevola.

Letting it marinate overnight by implying they are entertaining the notion of Bradshaw and Riski and no pick. Leaking to the media and the club's website that the deal is "just about done".

and ...BAM!

price goes up.

*re-assures self* "They know what they're doing . . . they know what they're doing"

This has to be my hardest trade week I can remember.

Had time to reflect on this decision objectively. If this "trade" goes through.....

"Pros"
1. We get a good forward for 1-2 years.
2. We get an extra depth/defensive midfielder
3. The media will say we did the "right thing"
4. May have saved 400k per year, after paying the Brisbane guys. (Does this mean anything?)
5. Won't have to "worry" about Fev getting drunk any more at events. (Previous "incident" was March 2008 BTW).

Cons
1. We traded away the best FF in the AFL for peanuts in his prime
2. We've given Brisbane the best forward line for the past 10-20 years for the next 3-4 years
3. We've let Brisbane leap-frog the Blues and allow them to push for flags over the next 3-5 years
4. We've got zero draft picks out of the deal
5. We've got no young KP forward talent out of the deal
6. Bradshaw's age and history of soft tissue injuries
7. Caved to media pressure.

Decision options for the Blues:

1. Accept the deal
2. Reject the deal and keep Fev on the list and try to resolve the issue as best we can

Well, thems the facts guys. Good deal or bad deal? Everyone will have their opinion and it's not going to change anything.

Not that it means anything, but my humble opinion; A terrible decision. If this goes through it'll be the worse trade decision this decade and will hurt for years.

:)

Totally agree. 100%

Except that points 1 and 2 of your pro's are also suspect.

We'll be LUCKY to get 1-2 years out of Bradshaw, and who's to say he has any ambition left other than to protect his body from being screwed for the rest of his life?

As for the extra midfielder, that's underwhelming given we now have a whole team of them and no forward or back structure. I thought the whole point of trade week was to structurally solve the teams problems to improve!!!!

How much is the extra salary cap space really worth?

Hell, we don't even save 1.4 million. Chances are, we'll be worse off in 2011 than if we kept Fev.

We would have been paying him 350k-375k under the cap in 2011 as he's eligible for veteran's status. Bradshaw + Rischitelli will probably command upwards of 500k meaning at best we'll be 125k in the red and more probably closer to 200k worse off.

This sucks.

Carlton are getting royally stooged in this deal.

Would have been happy to offer up Dawes and Macaffer for Fev.

Two young forwards that will play for 10 years as opposed to a 31 (Next Year) year old forward whose body is shot, and an ok midfielder who pales in comparison to Judd, Murphy and Gibbs.

Yeah, great deal.

Hopefully the Blues are smarter than that, for all your sakes.
