Freo fans: tonight hurts but at least be courteous to each other while venting.

Oppostion fans or anyone out to have a crack: don't post here. You will get banned and you will get points.

That forward line was so depressing. Starting the second quarter and watching Erasmus, Sturt, Treacy, Banfield, Walters walk towards the 50 was shocking.

We still lack depth in our squad (have done for far too many years now) and it just does not seem to improve with us losing experience starters year after year.

West Coast actually fielded more 50+club game players than we did this game.
So please try to have some restraint when calling for the likes of Sonny to be dropped.

We simply do not have better players to bring in and unless you want to again start another rebuild, we need small changes.

All season I've seen our greatest weakness is our bottom 3-5 players that are making up our starting team each week.
The likes of Banfield, Erasmus, Hughes continue to hurt us on the scoreboard with their poor/slow decisions leading to costly turnovers.

But, JL is hiding our depth problems by utilising speed and running fitness to stay competitive.
Under JL's reign of coaching, we have a very strong correlation of winning when we have a strong team of run.
Tonight, the Slime out ran us. We had our lowest total km's for 2024 (261km vs WC 269km).
We were obviously very flat after the prolonged stay in Adelaide, together with some recent tough games.
The final margin was the 6 goals up the Slime got on us before we registered a goal on the scoreboard.

We need at least Freddy and Switta back and I would like to see Chapman in also.
Erasmus needs to find some prolonged form and growth in the WAFL.
Banners needs to go and only return when he is one of 23 fit players in the squad.
Sonny has had a grand total of 8 kicks in the last three games. If we can't replace that with someone with higher output we are in a much more dire position than I thought.

I’m so depressed, I’ve run out of Bourbon and have started drinking my Wife’s Watermelon Cruisers

Sturt was actually fine

Fyfes direct opponent won the Ross Glendenning
Sturt had 6 touches and lost almost every single contest to Barrass. He was invisible. Apart from his two goals (that came when we were 50 points down) he had zero impact on the game. Can you think of a single thing he did outisde of those goals? A single contest he won? I can't.

Fyfe had 27 touches and 13 clearances. Yeo had 26 and 6. It doesn't matter as much what his direct opponent does when he's actually pulling his own weight.

I was a huge Sturt fan and I love the kind of player he is. These kinds of players that just kick goals from **** all possessions and do it accurately. Fritch is perhaps the modern archetype.

But honestly he's so uninspiring and really the highlight of his career with us has been game 1. He hasn't improved. He doesn't add anything. He is the antithesis of the player who is just going to say come with me boys and get us moving.

Which is a bit sad really because Banners is that guy in nearly every other aspect but just doesn't kick ****ing goals.

I'm still confused at how after over a quarter century we haven't had a forward line with more than 2 great players. It always consists of great players then barely state grade players.

25+ ****ing years and we manage to only get 1 player who's good every 5 years

Guy kicked two straight.

In the long list of things that were ****ing shit tonight, I’d take three weeks before I got to the guy that kicked two goals from two kicks

No point tearing into players. Everything that happened tonight, and the culmination of the season so far, is on the coach.

Where’s that “ decade of domination “ dude

More like “ fortnight of fantasy “

Forever Freo

Forever ****ing useless

No ****ing trades this year ….. back to the draft we go and get some ****ing powerful athletes

It doesn't matter what his direct opponent does, despite his direct opponent being best on ground

Read that again and make that make sense please?

Maybe if he actually impacted a single contest further than 30 meters from his goal then we would have had plenty more opportunities to score. It's not my fault that everytime I watched Barrass take an intercept mark I saw the number 1 trailing behind him.

He hasn't played in I can't remember how long. Many forward entries were intercepted, it was more to do with structure. Either way, gotta get used to it, we have little depth and he needs a few more games before a call is made. Showed a lot last year and confident he can turn it around.
