Great to see that Vlastuin will make his debut well knew that on Tues but moving on good to see the kid get his chance...

Other changes id like to see is;
Outs: Morris (sus), Conca (Inj) Chaplin (only if doc says no), Pettard, Tuck
Ins: Floss, Helbig, Batchelor, White and A.Edwards (another who cold come in "if one of batch or helbig" dont get the nod is Dea)

Yeah... not gonna happen. We are 3-1 and lost by 5 goals to a top 4 side and you want to make 5 changes?

Who does AEdwards replace exactly? You cant just take out a inside midfielder or a half back and replace them with a forward pocket.

I'd line up something like this...

Vlastuin - Rance - Batchelor
Newman - Grimes - Ellis
Houli - Cotchin - Grigg
Knights - Vickery - King
McGuane - Riewoldt - SEdwards

Maric - Deledio - Martin

Bench: Pettard, Nahas, Tuck, Jackson

Ins; Nahas, Vlastuin, Batchelor
Outs; Conca, Morris, Chaplin

*Give Vlastuin the early job on Ballantyne. Ballantyne plays midfield and further up the ground a lot more this year then previous years which is a good thing for Vlastuin.
* Move Houli up the ground to a wing and get Newman back where he plays hes best football. We need more leadership down there with Chaplin out of the side.
* Start SEdwards at Jacks/McGuanes feet and rotate him through the midfield.

I honestly believe our forward line is way more dangerous with Nahas, SEdwards and King in the same side.

Be shocked if Helbig played this week. He's coming off a 5 day turnaround after playing a full game in which in the second half there were NO rotations. Vlastuin, Dea, Batchelor, Nahas and White were all given shorter game time so if there are any replacements they would come out of these 5. For Helbig to play would be an indictment on our player management.

sub.

Joker forget about the 5 goals we were dismantled dont lose sight of that but moving on, 3 changes are enforced and i made another 2, worst case 4 changes should be made....Tuck out due to bad form and id rather have Batchelor than Pettard those 2 dropped marks unacceptable and not only the dropped marks but his skills out of defensive 50 are a real worry........A.Edwards does not have to replace anyone, Mcguane even though tall can play short, is mobile and agile....A.Edwards to play more the lead up fwd....King and S.Edwards to play small and if white comes in he might be the sub and give us another fwd option....

Does it though? Does change make us stronger? Especially in the backline.

So you're saying lets play 4 (FOUR!!!) talls in the forward line. Jack, Ty, Mcguane and Edwards??? I mean, we struggle accommodating 3 let alone 4. Tuck's had a couple of bad weeks but he has credits in the bank. He won't be dropped in a physical, bruising encounter. Freo play a tough tackle heavy game and this suits Tuck. And you want to bring in White??? He can't hit a target to save his life. And he also isn't an option up forward. And he hasn't shown anything in an AFL game for several years. Whereas at least Petterd has been playing ok. Houli has been much more of a problem than Petterd. Just because he has an ugly kicking style, it doesn't mean his skills are poor.

Wont happen.

25 minutes changed the game - Collingwood played awesome, we were asleep after half time and Cloke turned unstoppable.

Wtf white aint a fwd option sorry he is, im actually not a fan of white but on this ground he has speed and if u bothered to read my post if he is a SUB would be handy to come on...

Again seems u are having problems understanding simple meanings, ur confused aint that hard to fathom but guess for you it is and well it seems to sum up ur posting in general and as i said Mcguane even though tall can play short, is mobile and agile but part of that did u not understand....

Omggggg Houli more of a problem than Petatrd now ive heard it all.

Tuck come on been terrible...

Assuming Chaplin is out, I think we should have as few changes as possible so the team can remain settled.

Out: Chaplin (inj), Conca (inj), Morris (suspension).

Ins: Batchelor for Chaplin - think Batch's versatility to play tall and small and also his rebound ability should be a big help in trying to get the ball past Freo's press.

White for Conca - not sure how White has been going recently at Coburg but his pace ad run and carry will be needed again to beat Freo's press. With Freo also having a few pacy players, White might even be able to do a run with job on the likes of Hill, Ballantyne or Walters. Also would consider Helbig given his strong form so far and Conca leading our tackle count (as well as Tuck struggling).

Vlastuin for Morris - Already confirmed he will debut, Vlastuin's maturity, determination and competitiveness should help him not give an inch to his opponent and so might be a good replacement for a shut down role in the backline.

For the 15th time, I never said Vlastuin wouldn't be playing. Re-read my posts. It was never confirmed on Tuesday that he would play. It probably hadn't even been decided by then!

McGuane can't play as a small forward!! Haha he isn't that mobile. And sorry if you think I am having trouble understanding, it must be your poor english skills.

Why would we have White as a sub though? We have better players that could play that role, EG Nahas. Or we could pick a guy who is actually up to AFL standard and give him the sub role. Just because White is quick it doesn't mean he is suited to being a sub.

Have you watched Houli the past few games? He gets the ball, shits himself under pressure and handballs it to the first teammate he sees. He sold a teammate into trouble 3 times on Saturday, including 2 that turned into goals. Not to mention his shocker against the Bulldogs that handed them a goal.

Sure, Petterd hasn't been perfect, and yes dropped a couple of easy marks (due to the sun), and I'm not saying that Houli should be dropped, but he's been doing a better job than him.

how is A.Edwards a tall? He's 182cm or just under 5'10"

GS you are right A.Edwards is a tick under 6 ft...haha you're trying to apply simple logic to rfc-tiger90 good luck with that one....
The reason i mentioned Edwards to come in "'which was shot down by rfc-tiger90" was even though mcguane is tall can also play short, very mobile and agile and Edwards can play lead up forward...

Oops, you should read his reply properly. Agreed with the rest of my points and just wanted clarification to why Edwards was a tall. As i said, plays the role of a tall. McGuane has never played the role of a small, and never will. Also, not sure why you have quotation marks? Who are you quoting?

Your points are also contradicting each other. Edwards should come in, but isn't tall enough to play a tall role, yet should be taking Mcguane's spot as a tall?? If he isn't a tall, then shouldn't McGuane still be able to play the tall forward role too??

It has so far.... his ball drop is too high and in pressure situations it takes too long for him to get boot to ball. Now I don't mind him playing half back but he is not ever to be the loose man.... just no good at it... Batch better in that role. Houli has been fine. The whole team struggled last week, really struggled and we came from 8 goals down to have a sneaky chance at 4 goals down. I doubt we will play that poorly again for the season.
