UPDATE: 9/10/12 – FREMANTLE’S Dylan Roberton is set to get picked up by Collingwood either as a trade or in the draft period.

If true would be a draft pick hey?

Draft period? If he just went straight back into the draft, this would make me sad.

Despite some common thought, I think this guy will be a player in the next 5 years. He always has composure with the ball, he doesn't get caught unaware his disposal's good, and he has a good footy brain. There are elements missing but guys with less tools are in a lot of best 22's around the country.

Farewell Bobby Dylan.

Collingwood probably remember how good he played against them. But I would've thought there defence is pretty strong and they have enough flankers. If it did happen the pick we receive would likely be floated to Essendon as part of a Gumbleton deal.

Collingwoods third round pick is 58. I will be fuming if that's all we get for him. Their second round pick is 39 wich is still a bit light but acceptable.

It's Collingwood, we'll be lucky to get even 58 for him.
Trade Robbo and our 2nd pick for their pick from the Slime (17 for Wellingham). Hope he doesnt nominate Collingwood only, then we are screwed and only get 58.

Anytime any club has an uncontracted player who nominates Collingwood as the preferred club for trading they get shafted. Robbo is worth more than pick 58 which we may not even use, has played 40 AFL games and does not look out of place, lots of potential really. What we need is interest from other Melbourne clubs and Roberton to be ok with a club other than Collonwood.

If Collingwood try to shaft us, then they can get lost. Their history of trading is dubious. Notice, most of the other teams lose out.

Conversly, when a Collingwood player wants a trade, we have media mouthpieces like Eddie drumming up hype and intimidating those who question his demands. See: Wellingham.

Roberton + 37 for 17 would be good, but I highly doubt Eddie and co would agree to a reasonable trade. 58 is probably Collingwood's first and only offer.

I'm fine with 39... which is about what I saw him netting us. But if the Pies offer us 58 and won't budge, like Caterina I'd be happy to see him go to the draft.

F*ck that.

There's time for this to play out. It'll be something better than 58... that'll be the Pies first offer.

They did well out of Wellingham by the way... rookie list to first round draft pick. Maybe the pr!cks will be feeling generous. Shan't be holding my breath.

Nice one Robbo... what were you thinking? Picking the Pies.

Why about trying to shirk the eagles and pinch Cripps from the Saints? Roberton for Cripps seems close to fair. Fact is Roberton is still only what 21? A lot of development left.

Anyway heres hoping the Gumbleton deal gets done quickly and we work a way to improve our 1st rounder
