NO!If Sloane DOES stay, do we seriously consider trading B. CROUCH?
Just like winning the toss at the Adelaide Oval...think about bowling then bat first

Sure, that is the point.
Weren’t you saying top 10%? Clearly top 25% is a bit different (particularly if he’s at the bottom of the top 25%). (I may have misread what you wrote). But he was listed as a restricted free agent, this seems to be a fact that you're not taking into account. I don't know why, I've posted it 50 times. He was in the top 25% of salaries at the club in the final year of his previous contract. I doubt your inside info was themselves provided the truth or they deliberately misled you.
Do you accept that the AFL listed him as a RFA? Yes or no.

And we already have Melb's 1st round pick this yearAs you said there lies Melbourne's problem. The cap... Lever, Petracca, Hogan, Viney, Oliver, Gawn. It must be bloody tight. Not getting into a argument as to whether it was money well spent but when you reportedly throw $850,000 a year at a floating defender it doesn't take long to eat up any spare cap space. It makes it much harder to attract the next key piece. How many 'grandstanding offers' can Melbourne carry.
I just can't see Sloane going there unless he's prepared not to maximise his contract and why would he do that?

Vince is the only one I can think of, not sure they were besties though. If I was Melbourne, or yourselves for that matter, I’d be selling flag chances over a five year window, rather than contract maximisation over three. You’re obviously pretty damn close in terms of capability, a lot closer than the Demons as of today IMO, but I’m going to dodge “that” debate diplomatically by just saying that selling is always about promise but only sometimes about truth as well.
Apart from Goodwin, are there any other people links at Melbourne that might possibly lever him that way?
Edit: oh dear that was unintentional

The club should consider buying or renting a house next door to, or across the road from Rory and Belinda. Put a car in the garage and give a set of keys to both of their parents. Then its really only a matter of organising flights for them.I just heard (and this source has no track record, good or bad, so take it with however many grains of salt you like) that Sloane and Mrs Sloane are expecting a baby. Anybody know if this is true? If so, you'd assume it makes a move back to Melbourne more likely?

Then there is the final confirmation. We can safely close this thread now. Start waving goodbye, and look forward to what might eventuate with whatever trade or compensation we’ll get.I can pretty much confirm this is true. Didn’t want to open up the topic as I feel I wouldn’t want an announcement made on Internet but they would be around the 12 week mark
Well the way I see it is her media career will be put on hold for a few yearsThen there is the final confirmation. We can safely close this thread now. Start waving goodbye, and look forward to what might eventuate with whatever trade or compensation we’ll get.
See ya Sloaney, it’s been fun.
If the Gibbs family can do it in melbourne the Sloane family can do it in AdelaideThen there is the final confirmation. We can safely close this thread now. Start waving goodbye, and look forward to what might eventuate with whatever trade or compensation we’ll get.

She is surely better going the Rebecca Judd path (in Adelaide) rather than heading to Melbourne where she is in a much more competitive environment.Well the way I see it is her media career will be put on hold for a few years

How does anyone “pretty much” confirm something like this is true... Either you can confirm it’s true or you can’t.. and if you’ve been told something like this in confidence it’s a bit of a dog act to come and announce it to all here where it’s only going to be spread out into the wider community.
Hard to believe this when a lot of posts on both their Instagram accounts are from winerys.
