He is right it was coaching though it happened too often to be the players and they could have brought a ruck in for Sav and left Blitz back all day but they didn't.

That is appalling coaching then. Not even melting cause of the loss. It's just appalling.

I think we can all agree Zuthrie on Roughy is not a good matchup.

Guthrie continues to get caught holding the ball and has no composure
Blicavs had his standard midfield game of less than 20 touches

We lost the game because the players on our list from 10-15 are absolute shittrucks who panick under pressure. Tuohy is a perfect example. Shits the bed under any pressure.

We also set up horrendously in the centre square. CS is lucky that he had ablett and dangerfield to bring us back in the game as his coaching was shocking today. Zuthrie on Roughead is unforgivable

The Roughead/ Zuthrie matchup is a symptom of our 'outs'. A heap of youngsters in our side V their entire side of senior players. Roughead never takes marks, ever.

Cam Guthrie looks completely putrid as usual. To play the amount of games he has and have so little composure, it's baffling. Actually, no it's not, he's just rubbish. He cost us 2 plays on the last few minutes, had clear space and time, caused turnovers.

Gregson should not play AFL, either should Parsons. Way off. Completely uncompetitive and weak.

Our side bottom line just isn't competitive enough over 4 quarters, too reliant on too few, we know this. Too many wait for the stars to lift the side, these players don't stand up. This is a side that won't progress with the current mentality. Finals footy is the opposite of what we play - it's not team footy, not at all.

What's the deal with Cocky?

If he's sore or not 100%, just don't even have him in consideration. He's a liability with the ball and has never had the momentum to find his feet (which he should be doing in the VFL).

Didn't lay a tackle all day - he'd be first dropped for next week.

I don't get down on Scott as much as some on here but he needs to go home, look in the mirror and ask himself if his nepotism hinders his ability as a coach.

It is evident that he has his favourites and it continually costs us when it counts the most.

I don't mind Henry getting his opportunity but we couldn't play both him and O'Connor.

Gregson needs to earn his spot back IMO, he went to ground far too easily over and over again today and it's just not good enough at this level.

Stanley kicked a couple but besides that he got absolutely crushed over and over again, if Smith got dropped because he was outplayed by the best ruck in the game last week, then Stanley needs his contract terminated.

Our MC is killing us with this BS.

Blicavs not going to Roughead at any point is baffling, Zuthrie on Roughy is just inexplicable.

Hawkins was great in the last quarter and funnily enough it happened when he went deeper and we started going more direct.

Ablett, Selwood and Kelly were fantastic.

Danger while quiet by his standards, nearly won us the game.

Like many on this board, a majority of our players seemed to give up while the game was in reach.

Guthrie had his good moments but cost us in the end with a) stupidity or b) selfishness

Echoing a few sentiments, and few other points:

1. Zuthrie to Roughead more or less cost us the game.
2. Gregson was hammered by Smith on the wing several times, I only like him as a small pressure forward floating up the ground, get's too easily brushed off the ball. I think Fogarty and Parfitt have well passed him already.
3. Dangerfield was left too late with the change into the midfield.
4. Thank god we kept Menzel, the people on here saying he is not Best 22 should be reevaluating their thoughts.
5. Kelly is best 22, hands down.
6. We need a KPD in the team badly. I'm actually indifferent between House or Gardner, maybe Gardner if we need a gorilla minded, or House if the match-up is not so dangerous.
7. Far too many inexperienced players today, we can't go in with that many inexperienced players, we are basically forfeiting a Top 4 finish, or probably a Top 6 finish.
8. Poorly coached today, so many experienced people sitting in the coaches boxes, but so many obvious errors today on there behalf, we can't rely on the stars to keep getting us over the line at the last minute, the young kids were out of the depths for most of the game and I'm not sure if they were given specific tasks early in the game.

zac guthrie and tuohy were pretty good today.

blicavs was ok given the roles he was given.

stanley was pretty awful but should never of played first ruck, especially after being injured and coming back as a forward last week.

Yes injuries are apart but they dropped Murdoch after a decent game. Dropped Smith after a bad game despite playing one of the best rucks in the game and being a vital player. Thurlow was a last minute emergency but still would have been better than O'Connor.

Stanley does some good things each game but then he has a couple of moments where he has to put his body on the line and doesn't. Even the second last Roughead one bag O'Connor all you want but Stanley is flat footed 3m away he has to kill that ball. I can see why St Kilda supporters couldn't stand him.

Fantastic game. Could have pinched it...but thanks to the hawks number one ticket holder, razor ray, two deliberate out of bounds not paid in last minute...just to name a few for the day. The dropping the ball in tackles were also quite shocking.

However, after my whinge above, the hawks played the better football for most of the day. It was great experience for an inexperienced team. But we would have lost by 10 goals without dangerwoodlett.
