Selwood was on 198 Brownlow votes at the start of the season.

Methinks tonight will get him over the line as only the 7th player in history to reach 200. :)
No doubt

Like to see Jenkins in for Sav, we traded for him and it'd be a waste not to see what he's got. Not sure Sav has offered enough to say he has to stay in. And he has experience, which with the shortened season is important as youd trust he knows how to get into games quicker.

Stanley as solo ruck looks ok. Need to see it against more serious opponents but happy so far.

Good blow out the cobwebs game against a second rate team.

I have defending sav for a while but he was rubbish tonight. I reckon his confidence is shot. He keeps doing this weird thing where he gets a slight bump from an opponent before going for a mark, and bouncing off like he has been thumped. Like he doesn’t even want to go for the mark just in case he drops it. I have noticed it way too often for it to be a coincidence.

Bye Curse? Broken
Kenneth Curse? Reinstated

Yep time to relegate the poo and wee scum after such a piss poor effort tonight. Cheers Jeff, great idea.

If you had told me which of the following would be more likely six months ago, I'd pick the former.

Stanley dominating the ruck or the season is delayed by two months due to a virus.

Well done Rhys.

Good win but we all know our issues are not at our home ground. It's transferring that form to the MCG and away. Still depending a lot on our older brigade - need our younger guys to step up and improve their skills. Too many sprays by Parfitt and Narkle - at least they are touching the ball a bit more though.

Glass half-full or 90% empty.
Goodonyer.

Who was it that said we couldn't kick a winning score.
you pick one :D

Goggin Our Best was gonna be making free money with the Hawks at $2.40 too.

And a lot said they didn't care footy was back. Great to see them in here having fun!

Great performance all around. Had those horror moments in the first half to keep a deplorable Hawthorn outfit in it. Fixed those up and hammered home the ascendancy to get what was always going to be a predictable victory. Our home advantage this year will be even more pronounced, because it has little to do with a partisan crowd and all to do with the game plan based on the field itself. When teams like Hawthorn whose players have never played there before come for a trip, it's like taking candy from a baby.

Seen a lot of chat about our tall forwards being quiet, but you take what the defence gives you. Hawks have a very tall backline without much pace. Our small forwards and miss had a field day and our talls made a contest. Re Sav...let’s not forget he’s 21 and didn’t grow up playing footy. He is WAAAY ahead of the curve for a young man his size and age. They will and must continue getting games into him. Also his presence pretty much gives us 2 genuine ruck options with either Stanley or Fort as No 1 ruck.

Impressive win. Very happy to see that the goal kicking was distributed. A team win, AND it wasn't as boring as batpoo. I always rejoice when Sicily has cause to suffer.

One jarring note. It seems that we are still being implored to defy probability and gamble. Those ads are far more irritating than they were pre-pandemic.

Worm has turned so much here to save face. Give it 4 mins and the usual will be back - dont forget the statements of fact.. that arent.

I like the crowd noise. Almost feels like a normal game when the camera is zoomed in on the play. Theres no atmosphere and it sounds wierd without it.
Personal preference I guess. So many times the crowd would roar and id be like "What Happened?" But it was just for no reason.
I don't mind just hearing the players and the hits.

Yep. And I think most of that was in reaction to last night's ugly slog of a game. I feel like people suck at acknowledging evidence of footy being good to watch and are superb at jumping on any evidence whatsoever of unattractive football. The second half of tonight's game was stylistically attractive. If supporters are going to shit on the ugly games I think it's incumbent upon us all to celebrate the ones where the football is good to watch when they come along.

THe AFLs association with gambling is a blight on the game. Good on the Cats for moving away from it. We weren’t the first but hopefully won’t be the last.
Not sure if Sav has got what it takes to make it but can’t see us changing a side winning as well as this one did. Love flogging the pee and poos!

So apparently 10k at GMHBA could happen soon.

I'm booking seats for the last GMHBA game of the season as soon as they come out. Want to be there for GAJ's last home game. :'(
