Geelong for the flag in 2019?

The only thing Geelong will win this year is the title for the worst team to ever finish top...their forward line is deplorable. Midfield is one paced- slow and they don’t have line breakers in their backline...

On another note- Joel Selwood has been a champion for so long but the end is approaching...danger needs to pull his finger out as well.

At this rate there's even something of a chance that they may not even do that

Jeez round 22 is gonna be a cracker - Brisbane v Geelong and Richmond v West Coast

Maybe it's just these young guys getting tired. Getting to a point where these guys are passengers.

I'm talking about Clark, Atkins, Miers, Ratugolea, Henry - All of these guys were their worst players today. Maybe they need to drop some of these guys over the next 3 weeks and have them force their way back in with form. All of them were good early in the season, but have faded pretty fast. Throw Rohan and Dalhaus on top of that pile too. And get rid of Zac Smith. Fort would be better than him.

Bit surprised they haven't made a play for Goldy given he's a FA and gettable.
He'd be much better than anything we have at the moment. Darcy and Sandi gave Smith a bath yesterday and then made him wash their cars in a bikini for good measure.

Geelong just look slow and not as dynamic as the Tigers or Lions, though they still of course have stacks of talent and a solid defence. I'm not sure if their game stacks up that well in finals footy, but time will tell.

Obviously not the best time to have a form slump, but not the worst either. Still clear on top, they can still hold that spot or finish 2nd which is still okay. I don't think they'll win the flag, but they definetely can.
Yep if we can regain our excellent pre-bye form, definitely a chance. Otherwise, on current form, we will find it tough to beat the good teams, regardless of where we finish.

Some of Goldy's best games have been finals.
His disposals can be iffy, but he's consistent, durable (rarely injured), hardly gets beaten, has a great tank, and is a good mark.
Baffling that the Cats haven't made a play for him.

Everyones a bit slow

I knew they were not a real threat back when Ablett returned home and the media hyped the holy trinity. Its been a disaster 2 years for the club.
No, I reckon a disaster would be running out there with 8 30+ year olds each week and still sitting down near the bottom of the ladder. Lots of good youth down at Geelong.

Geelong's youth have the same one way running mentality as their senior players especially Selwood, Ablett and Dangerfield

Personally, I'm tired of recruiting over the hill rucks.
Stephenson, McIntosh, Clark, Smith, they have not delivered and neither would a 32 year old Goldstein.

Good friends with someone involved with the club who told me a few weeks ago that Geelong have been using the luxury of games clear to put their players through a “mini” pre season to amp up for finals. Great teams have done it before with good success.

I expect the Cats to be both barrels loaded and firing come week 1, but they wouldn’t want to slip outside the top 2.

FWIW I think it’ll West Coast and Richmond to grace the G on the last day of the season. Richmond are looking mighty fine, and WC are pumping at the right time of the year.

Smith wasn't "over the hill" when you recruited him. He was just an average ruck who hasn't stepped up.
