Hi everyone, I'd appreciate some info from those more knowledgeable than me. I've just won a signed 2014 Geelong team guernsey (signed by the whole team, unframed, with certificate of authentication), and was just wondering how much it would be worth if I was to sell it?

And where do people normally sell items like this, on ebay or somewhere else?

Congrats on the win. You can certainly take a photo of it and the Coa from the club and post it here. You will get some bids. There was one on eBay last week that went for about 225. That was 2014 with GFC. COA. The big money is in the premiership year ones.

Thanks Daz, appreciate that info. I looked on the Cats Shop website too, and saw they're retailing the 2014 signed team guernsey for $995 . That makes me appreciate the value of the prize even more, and all for just filling out the member's survey!!

Because I'm not into footy memorabilia at all, I think I'll have a go at selling it on eBay, will post a link from here once I've got it up, if anyone is interested.

Just remember that because the club asks for 995 doesn't mean they get it.
Best of luck with your endeavors and I'd luv to see the pics in here when it comes time to sell it.

The guernsey collection has taken a back seat for the past few months while I save up for a trip over to the States. Couldnt help but dip into the holiday account and purchase this though. Needless to say the misses wasnt impressed but its not to often a Cats player gets to Captain his country so I couldnt let it pass.

You beat me...

ISC have 2014 gear on sale, much cheaper than the cats shop if anyone is interested, sorry if it's been put up somewhere already. Free shipping too.

Thanks so much for the heads up on this!

I just got a 2014 ladies polo shirt, guernsey and wet weather jacket for around half of The Cats Shop's 'sale' price.

Very happy!

Not sure if this is the right thread...

Just received my 2015 Mighty Member card and so filed my outdated 2014 membership card with my previous year's cards. My own continuous run of membership cards begins 1999. Probably modest compared to other posters. Does anyone else have a long continuous run of (Geelong) membership cards?

Grabbed Shane Mumford's 09 Grand Final Player issue jumper signed by the 22 and coach last month.

That makes 2…

( I have Cam Mooney's from 2011 as well)

need one more…

-Trent Dennis-Lane Delisted
-Wellingham Dropped

Give it time. It won't be long before 'you won't be able to tell which player from which' is circulated, and then (by a lot of people) accepted.

I wouldn't be surprised, but it's got to be one of the more ludicrous (potential) suggestions I've heard. How do people go distinguishing the names on the jerseys of soccer players and basketballers (who play on much smaller playing areas, meaning the play can be zoomed in closer) on TV? Not too well, unless there's a random close up of a player's back directly to camera, right?

They can bring it in if they want, but don't try to tell us it's to distinguish the players from each other.

Gents,
I'm going some research into the most paid for match worn Geelong jersey. I was advised that Ablett's 2007 GF jersey achieved $28,601. I can't check on the clubs auction site as results are only listed back to 2011. The only others that come close (for any club) are Ted Whitten's 1970 Footscray jersey Leski auctions 2007 $17,475 and 2014 hawthorn GF worn jersey Luke Hodge $22,000..any other auction resultt that you know of? The AFL ended up deciding it wasn't going ahead, the names were too small and not really functional for our game.

One off future collectable cats fans! ;)

That's right. Not sure why looking at the players having a kick before the game in their warm-up shirts (which invariably have the players' names on them in the same style as what was being proposed) wouldn't have been sufficient to alert the league/clubs that it wasn't going to work as anything, except a revenue raiser.
