Guthrie was one of the better players. Nice bias.

A couple of nice goals but his contested work in close is extremely poor and that's an ongoing problem that's not going away. If you want to try him on the wing I'm okay with that but as an inside mid he's a massive liability. If you can't see that, or think it's bias, that's not my problem.

I don't even know what to say about that one. If they're trying to play bruise free to prevent injuries for finals then they're only saving themselves to be on the receiving end of a belting.

Has a side ever finished top and then gone out in straight sets?

We did it in 1980. Good chance of repeating it unless a bunch of digits are extracted from rectums down at the Cattery in the next few weeks.

He's also the epitome of the "it's just a game" mentality.
He'll be having a laugh with the opposition post a finals loss, it just doesn't hurt him like it did guys like Mooney or Ling.

It annoys me as well because I remember reading his column in the Herald Sun a while ago saying how he wants nothing more than to be a premiership player and that’s his biggest goal etc. He honestly comes across as the type of bloke that would rather a Brownlow

Have looked like a tired team for 6 weeks now. Been outplayed, out coached, outrun by teams we would have flogged if we were the team we were before the bye. Won’t be beating anyone in the finals unless we find that form again. It’s really disappointing given our excellent early season, but if this as as good as we are now, better to fall down the ladder so we don’t go out in straight sets from top of ladder.
I miss that first half of the season team. Bring it back!

Like I said if this is a deliberate ploy to conserve bodies for the finals they would want to perform well in the finals or serious serious questions needs to be asked AGAIN....with more drastic measures regarding personals in the club

I pray that this is a tactic and due to heavy training load ect otherwise we are going to be embarrassed again in the finals

I reckon the HTL thing is just propaganda to hide bigger issues.

Hope I'm utterly wrong, but to my observation the team is simply devoid of confidence and a worthwhile game plan.

We've slowly changed our personnel week-by-week to closely replicate the team of last year and earlier. All we need now is to somehow get Murdoch back in from the Gold Coast and we're set for another finals campaign, honestly.

The O'Connors, Dahlhaus', Parfitts, Constables etc got us to top spot of the ladder, and now we've replaced them with the Scott Selwoods, Hendersons, Tuohys and Jed Bews etc etc. The latter blokes had their chance for the last half decade and couldn't cut it when the pressure was raised, get the first group of blokes back in and stop trying the blokes we know aren't going to take us anywhere.

Yes thought same. Spot on.

And have been worried. Scott needs someone to take him on. Get back that team that predominant in the first 6 weeks.

Selwood pissy on KROCK. Not a happy Skipper. And rightly so.

And he's hurt too. Asked about his knee and he said he was great during the week but not good in the game.

Dont think for a second Sel enjoyed this game. He was pissed.

Listen to the interview on KROCK - not happy. Good for him to do the interview but it was a cranky one.

GO Catters

This is a skid of major proportions. The season is falling apart for Geelong. Beaten by 10,11 and 12 On ladder. What chance next week. 50/50 and only because we are playing at home. Geelong look cooked. Very disappointing. Reminds of politician Richard Marles promises a lot and delivers nothing. We are playing like a bottom 5 team and they do not win often. And as some others have said the same old failures of last and previous years in the side is NOT going to make Geelong a better side as we get to the pointy end.

Pretty much the game plan we had has been worked out... This slow chipping from defence to the wing worked for a while, until teams figured it out and flooded outlr forward line and we turn it over. Also our rucks are terrible at tapping to advantage. The so called 'wolf pack' died a slow death.
It's the game plan that isn't working IMO and as usually there is no plan B..

Not sure anger will help. A serious rethink about approach and some motivation to get something out of all the effort they put in earlier in the year. Otherwise it amounts to nothing at all and that’s how they’ll be remembered

Anger as in a determination to right the ship, accept responsibility for the state of affairs, and a focus on proving the doubters wrong.

I thought we were well in it at 3/4 time. Really disappointing, especially the last quarter.

The positive;
*What we learned;
-Stanley is better value than Smith
-Atkins you can rely on
-We might simply not be good enough
*Games for Menegola and Rohan, I bloody hope it is useful for them
*Kelly was good and didn't like the treatment from some of the Dockers, they are pricks Tim!

The negative;
Not enough space here.

On to next week...

If something doesn't happen internally from here we are seriously done.

The players need to get angry, CS needs to get angry...... Something must happen.

This coasting free fall of denial that the club has indulged in for the last couple of months must stop. And now.

I'm feeling the pull of the dark side re: CS.....

Im done with the coach.
The sooner he f#cks off the better.
