People are stating their opinion. Don't get so cut up when it is different to yours🤷‍♂️
I'm not getting cut up, but I've read your posts and you're stating it as a fact, not your opinion. You say that Sydney is 'heaps better than Melbourne'. What you mean is that's your opinion.

I agree with some of what you say about Melbourne but still prefer it to Sydney. I'm not going to say it's 'better'. I just prefer it.

But I've gotta say I'm stumped how you can take over seven hours (three footy games) to get from the Geelong area to Springvale. The MI connects directly to the West Gate and takes you almost all the way to Springvale.

I'm happy living in my house in Norlane that is affordable for me to pay off (long way to go), but I'm just happy it's close to all I need here. Mind you I'd like a Noodle Box this side of town, too hard to find a place to park in Ryrie St for it.

Back to the footy, there is no doubt of the five losses we've had this season I'm most accepting of the Swan's one. We tried hard, went hard early, got pegged back very quickly as our 2nd quarters this year seem to be, but never gave up even as we got 5 goals down midway in the last. Just our mangy forward forays that fail to hit a target which can be penalised the other way, that goal Warner sped to and bloody Papley were just the sort of things to kill us. Plus I've often had Papley as an anytime goalscorer in other games against someone not Geelong and he often can't kick over a jam tin, yet he's potting them from 55m sailing over the fence. Swans were on, and they are the side to beat.

We are rejigging the side, a fit Danger and hopefully a fit Cuthrie may make a big difference, and with more time into the younger mids hopefully they get a bit more consistent. One thing it shows, how amazing was Joel Selwood, i think his amazing impact from the get go has coloured our view of young players, the majority may take time to get back into it. And even with Joel, he was the bottom banana in a midfield that already had a 5-6-7 years in the system group like Corey, Kelly, GAJ, Chapman and Stevie J, Ling etc. Jye Clark really can't be expected to be as impactful as Joel, he just needs time. But I'm hoping some of the youngsters in the ressies get a gig too, as it's clear that Duncan, Touhy, Stanley, most likely Hawkins et al are not going to be the future.
Does Norlane Hotel do a good noodle?

George Stevens and Mitch Edwards are both going to become very good AFL players. George has elite disposal by hand and foot and great footy IQ but just needs to develop the running side of his game. Mitch is a fantastic athlete for his size, he can run all day and is a very good contested mark - when he adds size and strength you'll start to see what he is capable of. All they need is time, and Geelong are very good at recognising that - they are developing nicely in the VFL
I'm pretty sure George Stevens will make it...

Haven’t seen much of George, big unit, does he have a penetrating kick on him?

Very much so.

Great disposal, brilliant body work at the contest, and superb vision when at the coalface.

Only thing that's going to hold him back is speed and fitness, which he's already shown an ability to improve rapidly in his short time at the club.

We're all a bit gunshy post Jansen & Constable...but at this early stage he's looking more like a young JPK than he is those guys.

Long way to go though.

Of course it's my opinion. Who else's opinion would it be 🙄

Sydney is pretty, and the housing commission flats are awful, but Melbourne has a hell of a lot going for it in terms of hospitality (not just coffee), the arts in general, sports and music, plus the Uni campuses around the city liven it up a bit too.

Sydney would be a great place to live if you had stupid money

Says mullin even though papley kicked 4 held his own.

Stewart even though he got 20 disposals only took 1 intercept mark and has dropped well off.
Its a weird write up considering Papley got off the chain and kicked 4 goals in a quarter and a half to effectively win them the game. If that was Bews he did this on, we would be wanting him dropped or retired.
Can't really say someone held their own when your opponent was the match winner.

Hope the coaches come back from the break with some fresh ideas, we are now 6 weeks straight of serving up a samey midfield and getting the same result week in week out.

He didn’t very well for nearly 3 qtr in not judging him too hardly as he’s brand new to the role practically and we are screaming out for a small defender

I still think he will be moved along the wing or midfield eventually and just needs to learn the defensive stuff to make that transition

Two mates of ours are going to leave Sydney in the next 12 months. They're a couple, no kids.

They are in their mid-thirties. She is a well-respected senior epidemiologist who has worked all around the country and been published in leading research journals. He is a consulting engineer who has led his own team in large civil builds. They're both good with money.

They're leaving because they will never be able to afford a house if they stay.

The criticism of Mullin is pretty funny.

He did nothing wrong with the hit up leads in the 3rd quarter. They were switches into the middle with players under no pressure at centre half forward going into an open forward 50. The defender just has no way of stopping that.

His worst moment was probably the failed spoil right at the end. His punch should just be stronger than that and he should get the ball to ground when he's in prime position like that.

The stoppage banana goal was interesting. He probably should be up close to Papley but that also risks him turning Mullin and getting goal side into dangerous space. I think Blicavs and Mullin have every right asking why McInerney (initially Blicavs man) was left in so much space when Blicavs correctly pushed in to pressure Papley's initial handball. There just has to be another man coming in to pressure him and with that much time and space he's going to hit Papley in space. I'd say it wasn't great from Mullin but the real error was the other midfielders not pressuring.

He was ok against a very good player and showed a heap early. The MC will back him in as they should after that.

Mullin got creamed. Bring back Bews or debut Humphries. Send Mullin back to the VFL to play as a full time mid.

I seem to remember plenty of bile for bewsy when he was sub 20 games and he was on the list for 4 years at that point

The next game Papley boots two goals from 55m that sail into the crowd will be the next game we see Gary Sr make a comeback. He's just not someone who does that, and I've watched him quite a bit as a player I usually include as an anytime goalkicker. Often a set shot from 40-45 out will spray wide and be lucky to make the distance or at best be rushed through for a point.
