We will win this.

I just really hope we drop stanley and motlop and bring in some small forwards.
Stanley showed us yesterday how soft he is
Motlop is just a waste of space. Slow, indecisive and ineffectual

Ins: W.Buzza, N.Cockatoo, R.Gardner, B.Parfitt, A.Mackie, J.Thurlow
Outs: R.Stanley, S.Motlop, Z.Guthrie, J.Parsons (All 4 Ommitted), T.Lonergan (Rested), M.Blicavs (Injured - let him recover for Sydney)

If there is a perfect game to debut Ryan Gardner it's against a youthful Carlton side. Lonergan looked out of shapes yesterday so give him a fortnight off for Sydney. Blicavs will be sore so rest him for Sydney too. Motlop and Stanley need to find form in the VFL and Parsons + Zuthrie have had their taste of experience at the top flight.

stanley was our best ruck last night. 22 hit outs. 4 marks with a greasy ball.

did you think stanley was soft with those two fantastic pack marks? best marks taken on the field all night along with mcgoverns screamer. how about being out best ruck at hitouts against jacobs. was he soft then?

He was soft at critical moments -cost us a goal

I acknowledge that I'm scarred by past results against the lowly Tankers but I'm fearful that the lowest-scoring team of the year will have something stupid like 10-12 goals to half-time against us on Saturday night. Really hoping our boys turn up ready to play rather than waiting to 'see what the opposition brings'.

Changes are problematic with so few fit and available to put pressure on the incumbents.

Surely Mack is back this week and hopefully Parfitt as well.

I would be insisting that Nakia plays a reasonable amount of game time in the twos before bringing him back. He seems to be coming along very slowly and the last thing we need is another catastrophe early in the seniors as he tries to stretch out and really extend himself.

I suppose Thurlow could be considered as well but he's hardly banging the door down in the twos over recent weeks. And he would be playing out of position for mine as the back-line spots are probably sorted for the time being.

Jamaine might be a long shot if he carves it up in the VFL (probably not ready from a fitness perspective, though) and Simpson could always get another run. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Sam gets a game this week while a senior player (no idea who it will be) is 'managed'.

Motlop will undoubtedly cling on to his spot so it's not even worth contemplating who will replace him.

What I'd like to see:

In: Mackie, Parfitt, Jones
Out: Zuth, Stanley, Parsons

What I imagine we'll see:

In: Mackie, Parfitt
Out: Zuth, Parsons

In the end, the team selection won't matter half as much as the intent. If we get beaten around the ball again, we are in for another long and frustrating evening.

the fumble in the middle was bad but it wasnt solely his fault. was a shocking handball from touhy forcing stanley to jump from a stationary position and still try and take a greasy ball above his head. should of still got it but as soon as he dropped it he was stuffed given he was stationary and in the air. had nothing to do with softness. it was also no where near as bad as the three uncontested in space dropped chest marks in defence in the first qtr that all result directly in adelaide goals (1 stewart and 2 lonergan). dangers dropped mark in the middle of the ground by himself just when we were getting momentum was also worse then stanleys.

Did you see when he marked the ball in 25m of space and instead of running towards goal he stands there for 15 seconds and then kicks it to the advantage side of menzel's defender. He just can't be relied upon.

He was but he also pulled out at a critical time in the match when we had some momentum and I would drop him on that alone.

Should receive enough meat for 12 months if you get this week's changes.:)
Injuries pending, would have thought it's not that hard:

In: Mackie, Cockatoo, Parfitt
Out: Kolo/Stewart, Zuthrie, Parsons

But not sure how Blicavs will come up after the foot/ankle injury (hopefully just a rolled ankle and 8 days) and I'm assuming Cockatoo and Parfitt are OK.

Uncertainty regarding injuries to both players that played and those that didn't, uncertainty with regard to which players Scott may drop after last night, uncertainty as to whether the likes of Thurlow or Buzza or Ruggles will be given another opportunity. Yes, but apart from all of the above, it is quite straight forward :D

There's uncertainty and there's certainty about uncertainty. ;)

What's our weakest link? Ruck, CHF, no small crumbling forward, too tall down back?
