Ffs the match commitee know Buzza won't dominate, but just possibly they are rewarding a kid who has given everything even though they know it's possibly at the detriment of this weeks game. Culture isn't a by-product of success, success is a by-product of culture. If people earn their spot, others understand what's required. I have been a Scott basher but his foresight leaves posters on this board with a lot to be desired. Rant over

When you find out that Rhys Stanley isn't playing

I'm also happy they made the call to rest Parfitt, the MC must have had the same nightmare as me of him running just an inch too hard and tearing it against the very team he did it the first time.[/QUOTE]

Im more pleased that the Magpies rested Wells - when Nth Melb won about 3-4 in a row against the Cats a few years back Wells was instrumental in that happening - kicked goals as well

Glad Fasolo's out too. Can remember him kicking a few bags of 4-5 goals against us.

You'd imagine this is Simpson and Zuths last game in the seniors barring emergency another week back for Cunico/Lang and a freshen up for Parfitt.
1 last game at the G in front of a big club, then 6 months eating steaks and throwing weights for the 2 twigs.

Zuthrie and Simpson out for Hawkins and Lang/Parfitt next week (give Lang a game to be ready in case we need him as backup in finals) then Blicavs Joel and Cockatoo in for Buzza Lang/Parfitt and Parsons/Thurlow for the first final. Or at least thats what i would expect.

I agree entirely with that - and unfortunately this week it is back to the Cats playing with 21

When Andrew Bews was at the twilight of his career playing at Brisbane - and Chris Scott was also playing for Brisbane at the same time . Bews said that all the Brisbane players called C Scott - Mr Serious - Mr Arrogant , and picking Buzza in such a critical game for Geelong - is pure blooody arrogance .

I doubt Chris Scott's purported arrogance 20 years ago, when he was an 18-20 year old, has anything to do with Buzza's selection today. Seems a stretch.

C'mon Collingwood are shit. We honestly don't expect to lose to them do we?

Why on earth would Geelong need 2 ruckman ( if you can call Buzza one - hes tall thats it ) this week - Collingwoods number no 1 ruckman Grundy is suspended . I had a quick read of the Collingwood board - re the Geelong game - quite a few of them said Cox was the worst ruckman they had ever seen - and didnt want him in their team - surely Zac Smith ( who is in good form - towelled up Nankervis last week ) could handle him solo

Picking Buzza ( who is a very green/raw version of Ben Brown ) in a must win game is stupid and arrogant

He was playing the long game. His goal all along has been to make us lose this very game in 2017 to Collingwood. He couldn't just show up and make it happen, so he hatched a devious ingenious plan. First he played good footy in high school to gain the trust of the VFL, he even got himself drafted by the Brisbane Koalas as a distraction, nobody suspected a thing, the next step to cement his disguise was to actually win 2 premierships, by this point he was sure nobody suspected a thing, so he made the bold move of retiring and expressed an interest in "coaching ". Finally he was almost there, all he had to do now was bribe bomber Thompson to lose a prelim against his beloved Collingwood and casually hint at his availability and the next step was complete, he was now Geelong coach, round 22 2017 was only 6 years away now. But then something terrible happened, he found out this Andrew Bews fella from way back in the 90's had seen under the mask. What could he do? "I know!" Chris said, I'll draft his son in exchange for his silence and then win a premiership to distract everyone. Perfect! Now all he had to do was wait, his double agent Wylie Buzza was ready for the draft, the time came, Rhys Stanley's drugged Gatorade caused a calf injury as planned and the job was done. He selects Wylie Buzza and everything comes together perfectly causing us to capitulate and lose the game.

And he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you damn meddling kids.

Fine, but Buzza isn't getting a game off the back of Scott's 'arrogance'. There is more at play in team selection that the coaches personality. Agreed, Buzza is green. But with Stanley injured and Hawkins suspended, his selection isn't all that bizarre.

Who do you propose plays ruck should smith get injured early in the game without buzza being selected? Taylor? Lonners?

About this post...

Firstly, a singular 'like' is not nearly enough to express how much enjoyment it has brought to me. Deserves a multiplier of 10 to be applied, at the very least.

And, from my viewpoint, you can close the book on 'Geelong Board Post of the Year' right now. No other entries need be considered.

Just. Too. Good.
