The final siren blows with Geelong 3 points down and the ball in the hands of Jake Kolodasnijchxzzq after taking a fine mark35 meters from goal out on a slight angle.

Idont think Geelong opened favourite at the start of GF week

However i can remember that Glen Munsie ( betting agent - but with an NRL background ) saying on Sky Racing Channel saying all the money is for Geel - they beat them by 96 a few weeks ago - thats good form etc - and the money has come for them in a big way
Maybe they opened as favourites. I don't think we went into any of those 4 GFs with the odds against us on the day though.

Wouldn't mind seeing Tuohy shoulder-to-shoulder with Martin. Has the strength and know-how. Martin doesn't have a big engine, so that shouldn't be an issue. And he isn't a player who copes with taggers. Curtailing his influence will go a long way to a victory.

PLEASE DON'T RAIN. P L E A S E.

Lauren Arnell is an AFLW player for the Lions. Peter Ryan is a journo for the age. They've had a female presence in recent years. It's not much different to previous years. Compared to previous years, only issue I see with it is that there's no one on it who's had recent involvement with the AFL (men's) competition. Matthews and Blight are the former coaches/players but both a long time out of either caper, then there are two journos, and then a female comp player. Usually you have someone, either a player or coach, on there who is still or has recently been involved with the comp, and I would think that perspective would be important. But I don't suppose it matters too much.

Simple impartiality, currency and efficiency would be to go umpires votes.

Yes me too. Couldn't stand a rugby slugfest full of flukes and close scores with the last minute heart attack.
In saying that - Richmond hot potato tap on /handpass chaos could suffer if slippery.
It has been discussed throughout the week but 40% maybe rain and the chatter has tailed off.

Agree. However, the votes are required immediately following the game. A big ask. There was a time those media people were asked to submit them before the game had ended. Not sure whether that still applies.

Yes that's right! I remember now someone like Paul Roos going on about the last minute rush. You'd think in this technological age there would be no excuse for it- a quick text. Perhaps after someone has won the game on the siren (Chappy!!!!) could make the voting difference.

It's such a prestigious award, but seems to be Rafferty's rules approach. Chuck in a few journo's to make up the numbers, when there are hundreds of deserving candidates.

Just watched a clip on YT of someone simulating the game on AFL Evolution 2, and had it pissing down rain all game.

We ended up winning by 2 goals with Gaz kicking the sealer. Wouldn't mind that happening in the real game either.

All my Brisvegas relatives at the gabba will take a drenching for that.
The problem I see with extreme rain is our set shots have been a bit far out for a heavy ball.
I'm probably just jumping at shadows. Off to Bedfordshire and a glorious future.

I've had that dream. Nankervis steps over the mark, and Kolo gets to kick it 10 metres out in front, and....we win.

Didn’t Danger miss from 10m out start of ‘16? I’ve had that dream too and it doesn’t end well. I’m not confident at all. Go Cats!!!! Just farking go and keep going all game....
