I remember saying yesterday that how impressive it was that it seemed as soon as Sydney kicked a goal we tended to return the favour pretty much straight afterwards. According to AFL Tables, that wasn't too far from the truth.

Sydney kicked their first goal at the 16:25 mark of the first term. We kicked the next goal at the 18:09 mark - 1:44 afterwards (then kicked another couple in the next 3 minutes after that).

Sydney's next goal came at the 9:03 mark of the 2nd term. We then goaled at the 16:11 mark, or 7:02 afterwards.
Their 3rd goal came at the 19:07 mark. We replied 1:46 minutes later at the 20:53 mark.
Their 4th goal came at the 26:04 mark of the 2nd quarter. The quarter went for 30:02, and we kicked our next goal at the 1:40 mark of the 3rd quarter, or 5:38 of game time afterwards.
Their 5th goal was scored at the 6:00 mark of the 4th quarter. We replied with one at the 7:19 mark, 1:19 later.
Their 6th goal was scored at the 16:22 mark. We scored again 3:37 minutes later at the 19:59 mark.
Their 7th goal came at the 21:12 mark. We replied with one at the 24:21 minute mark, 3:09 later.

On average, we replied to a Sydney goal with one of our own within about 3 and a half minutes. Never gave them a sniff.

About to watch the replay for the first time.

Bliss.

Having watched cold rather in the heat of emotion... Id have given Danger BOG ..... and id have give a minor vote to Stanley. It was important that we had good Stanley and he seemed to get his hand to the ball every BD.

On days like that one struggle to see hoe you fit other players in but our age will probably see us take a bit hit in numbers in eth next 12-24 months...

Well done Geelong. Such a great run club that’s built a culture that outsiders want to be part of. From list management, back room staff to the coaching panel, I’m envious. The scary thing as an opposition supporter is the amount of depth you have and people wanting to be traded in. Congratulations on a great 2022.

Could not agree more. But...Norm Smiths usually get weighted with icing on the cake stuff - and Isaac kicked goals. In the 1st qtr Selwood was our engine. The other 3, it was Danger.

Haven't read all the replies, but Bews completely shut down Papley from what I saw. Papley is a livewire who ignites the Swans in big games. Very important and under-rated effort. He is in my best.
Papley was the one player I was really worried about because he can play forward and on ball but Junior Rat blanked him out of the game beautifully

Geelong were living in their heads before game started.
I'm not sure of that. They beat us way back in March when Buddy kicked his 1000th goal, so they may have believed they could do it again. But I guess it matters not now.

This team we have is one of the best I've seen. What a shame some players are at the end and won't be with us much longer. Once they go, the team will change again. But that's footy.

I thought Isaac Smith handled things well. Having won three flags with Hawthorn and now one with Geelong (the sworn enemy of Hawthorn) I thought put him in a potentially tricky situation facing the media. The media tried to get him to compare some aspects but Isaac batted it away nicely and answered in ways that neither club's supporters would be offended.

However, I do now feel bad for calling him 'Ishank Smiss' back in the day.

Stewart I think it was sat him down fairly early on with a nice bump too.
