Yeah, and they don't magically appear there. Why do you think Tuohy was playing as a defensive forward at the end of the last year? Why do you think Clark was moved onto a wing? Why do you think Bews was brought back in? The coaches don't like the idea of attacking football from halfback because the risk of turnovers is too great. Shuffling the deckchairs in the backline isn't going to help.

To be fair thats because we lack run and carry in the midfield so while our mids can push back to help the defence we cant quick transition the other way. Get Clark onto a wing and draft or trade a quicker young mid plus Steven and we can maybe change that.

I’m hopeful but I tend to agree. Smith for Steven would be obscenely good.

Oh yes for a player we were going to delist it would be a steal. 37 and 58 for Steven and say a 40s (maybe a future 3rd back) would be my prediction but 58 would be awesome. Probably depends on who is paying what re his salary as to what pick it costs.

It would be only for one year so won't stop us bidding for Cameron next year.

True probably just stops us making other moves this trade period TPP wise.

I'm not sure a team that had Patrick Dangerfield, Tim Kelly, Cameron Guthrie, Jordan Clark and Quinton Narkle in it for periods lacked the raw material for run and carry. I think they just don't like playing that way.

Do you think our TPP is tight? We allegedly had $800k set aside for TK...

I think its relatively tight for a top 4 team but not so tight that we cant pay Jacks 800k next year.

Possibly although both Danger and Kelly werent playing in roles that allowed them to run and carry a lot and Narkle was out of the team most of the year. I would argue playing Blitz and Sel on a wing limited the run and carry. But yes it may not be a gamestyle we like.
