Depends on who is there. If you can get tilthorpe at 7 (I can't see him getting past gws at 9 with their ruck stocks) and not 11 then it's well worth pushing 16 back imo but I'd prefer to do that trade on the night when we know who is there. RUck and key forward are such holes for us.

As I’ve said, I don’t think it’s at all likely but you would be negligent not to do due diligence on a player of his quality.

I mean we took Joel at 18 ..and Smith is coming up on 28 ... and I feel his knee issue will not get better from here , more likely to cause troubles.

He really overrated imo, has had no real impact the last 2 seasons, looks lost if he’s not playing in the guts & isn’t good enough to be in a finals bound midfield, gets by on tackles.

He’s probably a bit better version of Dahlhaus at this stage

I was brief and too attribute in that cliched claim , the world is multiple shades of grey rather than black and white so 'no develop' is not correct.... but yes we probably we will have a discussion or two. all good fun.

It such a difficult year , we have no Kiwi type players that have come from a long way back.... but as I said earlier ..I have moaned about lacking single figure picks. I maintain that a Premiership side need single figure picks that they have picked at the draft , you can fail with them but I suspect you can not succeed without them. We have not had a pick under 10 since Selwood in 06 .....

but one pick is not really enough. Cockatoo shows that. Look at StKilda with their pick of McCartin with P1.

If a tall player of talent , was expected to be there then I suspect id take the risk. I wanted Ben King sometime ago.. thats gone now. Our future tall hopes are pinned to Sav and to Freddie ..both players deemed to be worth something in the 40's... and traditionally gun forwards come from picks earlier than that. Like any tall. he would not be an immediate play now solution

1st pick. Best Key Forward
2nd Pick Best Midfielder
3rd pick Small Defender
4th pick but probably most important pick thou. A YOUNG RUCK PLEASE.... not a Forward who can swap to defence and pinch a bit of ruck. A key primary position ruck...

What I do not know is stuff like leap and 2k time trail..all the combine stuff ..but the chance to get someone like this.. yes id probably take him if he was there as the chance to get someone like his is rare for us.

I’m finding it hard to get a line on Tanner Bruhn obviously there’s not a lot of footage & he’s played a handful of games in 2 years, has some nice traits, very comfortable on both sides of his body, deceptively quick off the mark, quick hands but sometimes looks a little Darcy Langish , he’s mocked well inside the top10, I’m not sure if I might take Perkins &/or Macrae before him, might change with Bruhn’s combine results I guess.

The debate about the development of our youth, and whether it's consistent and sufficient will continue for the duration of Scott's reign here.

There's no definitive answer as each opinion will be shaped by an individual interpretation of what constitutes a correct balance between our kids and the old timers.

I reckon we take the tall this year. Use our next pick to take a mid. Plenty of good mids next year too so maybe wait until then to grab an elite one?

I’m a big fan of DGB but I’m not sure he’s a massive priority for us. Will he be KPD size? We have DeKoning and Henry as KP and third talls respectively.

Just haven’t seen enough of Bruhn but he’s highly rated for a reason. His injury history concerns me. I have a feeling though we are right into him. If we trade up it will be to ensure we take him.

Playing Miers shows that we are not totally focused on matures only ... but when I listed to KRock mention that Jordan Clark might go ... and Higgins is a done deal ... it does tend to make one think we have a heavier balance on the mature end atm.

If that scenario plays out I’d be pretty angry. To bring a 33 year old in and let a first round pick go would be a ludicrous move. Laughable.

Clark is contracted for two more years he isn't going anywhere unless it is on our terms

Cal Twomey has him top 5 but that clubs see him as more a forward at AFL level. I don’t see that at all in the highlights. If he can’t ruck I don’t see anything there that’s scream main pea in the pod.

looks a great ruck prospect. Would love him to grow 2 or 3 more cms
