With a supposed 5 x 700k deal for Crouch I wonder how they would manage that, interesting times.

Nathan Brown has also retired, Carlisle is out of contract, Savage is out of contract & battled injuries this year - so maybe a few changes with that to accommodate fresh faces

This is true. Reports are Essendon are keen on him too and have a plethora of money to spend, saints might see themselves priced out of it.

I'd be fun to see McCartney deal with Dodo, would make our interactions appear much more reasonable by comparison.

Where’s that Carlton poster who kept insisting Crouch was going to Richmond?
collecting his sports bet winnings on the back his great info.

oh wait

GO Catters

Wow - we just keep getting luckier and luckier - we dodged paying stupid money to a player with a poor injury history and very average disposal. So glad - based on Simpson, Narkle, Constable, Fogs, etc I'd rather back them to improve (Simpson as others have said well on the way now) plus Cooper Stevens to come in and play good footy in a year or so. Still have some cap flex with retirements over next few years, and Higgins being 2 years max probably. When you hear stores like SOS on Carlton (paying McGovern over $700/yr on long term deal when he doesnt deserve to even play), Norths list debacle, GWS not being smart on how they have handled their 'free kicks', Bombers unmitigated mess (and STILL relying on Dodoro even though he has been one of those responsible - love him shifting the blame to the footy dept by the way), then it makes us love our management and footy management teams even better - they are performing at the level of our playing group and its great to see. Love Parfitt staying and hope the Cameron deal doesnt take SDK

I think for us it was going to be Cameron & Higgins, or Crouch & Higgins. Since Cameron wants to become a Cat (**** yeah), we can’t get crouch in, I suspect he’s had a few options on the table and nominating St. Kilda is a good option for him, they need another mid.

What did Cook have to say on SEN today, anyone hear it?

I think most would almost expect them to be strong. mentioning silly players..as Ess did ... does that really help?

If we want to target guys who are RFA .. we better have a very strong backup position ... because ..what happens when a club digs its heals in.

We can walk away ..but then what.

Hearing SOS mention Sam Dek this morning made me feel ill.... if thats the cost of targeting RFA..not sure its worth it.

Dek is fine here for now.

Im sure we will have a backup plan for jezza i trust us to walk away if the cost is too high.

Crouch just wants the longest contract he can get imo...while he would have been a decent get im glad we didnt offer 5 years to a guy with his injury history.

If push came to shove, couldn’t cameron just sign a 1 yr deal with gws, and walk to us an an unrestricted free agent next season? For nothing.

Once they match the deal both parties are bound by the terms of it (say 5 years) i dont think those can be changed.

They were banking cap for years i think they have room.

Brian Cook and I quote "Jeremy will be nominating for Free Agency on the 30th of October and we will not be making any comment until then. We have other things to concentrate on"

Ps Said next year will mostly likely be his last and that Franky Costa had been sick and had undergone multiple treatments over the last two months"

Best wishes to Frank for his treatment and good news on the footy stuff.

The Hawks have one upped us in the FA stakes by signing Kyle Hartigan. Damn them.

Wow. After the positivity of your first statement, that postscript of yours is seriously quite sad for us.

Cooky has to leave sometime, I know. But, given the gigantic difference he has made to our club, there was never likely to be a time where I saw it as 'good news'.

And to hear that our premiership president is not well is certainly concerning. Praying that he's on the improve now, and that he gets a massive boost from watching on as our boys strive to bring home the cup once again on Saturday.

Two outstanding figures in the long history of our amazing club.
