Anyone else find it interesting that none of either Knights, Enright or Scarlett have made specific mention of Chris Scott in their statements to the media.

They've thanked the club, thanked the players, but zero mention of the bloke they worked under and supposedly all working together and on the same page with. Now call me cynical, but I think that tells us a lot about the fractured relationship that may have existed towards the end of the year. Or was everything going fine, and did C Scott have a meltdown post the prelim final loss and tell them their time was up (if that's even his job).

I'm buoyant about the reset that is taking place. I think it's overdue and it will give the joint some fresh air to approach 2022. Maybe Hocking had quickly assessed that change was required - but C Scott was the right person to coach - and he just needed some fresh ideas around him. Seems plausible that this was Hocking's assessment. Personally I think it's correct - we have a very good coach in C Scott. He just needed to be sat down and told changes were needed to our approach - and the club wanted to put some new people around him.

If it was a choice of getting rid of the coach or the assistants - I think the choice was pretty simple.

The reason behind that IMO is that he is limited at AFL level. It’s not a temperament thing, it’s just that he isn’t clean with the footy and that is shown up under finals pressure.

Menegola, Blitz, Henry till this year, Bews all have that issue to varying degrees.
IMV none of the others are as panicked. This added to the skill issue is a dithering finals time mess. It is our weakness as a team, bit he is number one proponent. Bews has improved a lot and willing to risk his hand. Kolo just gives the ball up when it truly matters

Darcy Tucker being traded just won't go away over here.
Tucker for Clark?

My only objection to that is that a short term fix now has very limited value

If you bring in the right 22-25yo ruck though you might get at least 6 years if not closer to 10 from them so i call that a long term fix not a short term one. Thats the kind of strategy i would pursue.

If tucker was coming it would be pure steak knives..we would never straight swap them when clark is contracted.

24 yrs old 94 games - he has a lot better resume than Clark
Not you again ….

Post on this thread flogging a spud on your list for a trade for a contracted player

gets offended when said player is called out for being a spud and that Clarke is contracted

acts suprised by the response and acts like a victim

rinse and repeat…in fact you have already asked about this trade …clearly just here to shit stir

Did you watch the prelim? Its obvious how top rucks destroy us. We have needed a ruck for 10 years and we need it now more than ever.

Nah mate, missed the PF. When was that on :rolleyes:

I'm inclined to ask you the same thing if you don't think our aging mids are an issue, but it's a puerile question so I won't.

Gawn was massive in the PF, obviously. And yeah, if we could trade him in I'd be all for it - he's clearly the best ruckman of his time. But do you reckon Ladhams (or whichever other ruckman is available) would have stopped him?

That's the point - it's all well and good to beat your drum ad nauseam that we need a good ruckman, but where are we getting one from?

now we’re questioning Selwood‘s kicking? Really? If I had to have someone kick for my life, either at goal or around the ground in a contest it’s him.
[/QUOTE Agree, he is still a quality player, lacks a bit of pace but makes up for it in the contest, leading tackler of all time . His kicking is still good.

Reading gold coast and Richmond boards, I think we can target pick 7.
If 3,19 is traded for 7 , Richmond 2022r1;
We could then target pick 7.

30, Geelong 2022r1 for pick 7.
Seems absurd, but gold coast have a massive list, not really that many out of contract players to delist.
By trading heavily into next year, they can give themselves time to assess players on their list.

Maybe what I suggest is slightly unrealistic, but if they really want to focus on the 2022 draft we could do something.
Or trade 30 and Geelong 2022r1 for
19,22, gold coast 2022r2
