Anyone else find it interesting that none of either Knights, Enright or Scarlett have made specific mention of Chris Scott
in their statements to the media.
They've thanked the club, thanked the players, but zero mention of the bloke they worked under and supposedly all working together and on the same page with. Now call me cynical, but I think that tells us a lot about the fractured relationship that may have existed towards the end of the year. Or was everything going fine, and did C Scott have a meltdown post the prelim final loss and tell them their time was up (if that's even his job).
I'm buoyant about the reset that is taking place. I think it's overdue and it will give the joint some fresh air to approach 2022. Maybe Hocking had quickly assessed that change was required - but C Scott was the right person to coach - and he just needed some fresh ideas around him. Seems plausible that this was Hocking's assessment. Personally I think it's correct - we have a very good coach in C Scott. He just needed to be sat down and told changes were needed to our approach - and the club wanted to put some new people around him.
If it was a choice of getting rid of the coach or the assistants - I think the choice was pretty simple.
