Thanks - surely it’s reasonably straight forward then?

Trade a handful of late 2022 picks that we won’t use to a club in need of points, grab a future in return. Potentially another future pick coming in for Esava too.

#18 for Henry.
F1 for Bruhn.
F2 for Bowes.

Take #7 and #38 to the draft.

Trade 18 for Henry and just find a way to do Bruhn.
This is my opinion on O Henry - and i did watch plenty of Collingwood especially the 2nd half of the year because i backed them @ $4 at one point for the top 4 - so there was a financial interest in watching them etc

He is only young - but this is my opinion which im entitled to -and it is only a football forum

My view ( and years down the track i could look like a complete idiot - hah - but im prepared to take that risk - hah ) - i think Henry is Shane Kersten mark 2

Kersten moved well - and could take a nice o/head mark - from memory he was a highly touted pick - top 10 was tipped - maybe even top 6-7 - but he drifted on draft night and the Cats i think got him with their 1st pick 15 to 18 or whatever

And i can even remember his 1st practise game for Geel - it was at KP -and he took this o/head mark - - and i thought this bloke is going to be fantastic - and Kersten did move well

And that is O Henry in my view - his tank is questionable - he cant chase and run down defenders - they can push him out of the way - but just like Kersten if he gets a clear run at it - he can take a ripper o/head mark

And thus i think just like Kersten he is a suuckers pick - he was in the Coll 2nds - and i dont buy this bulldust - oh put him in the Geel system and he will improve - the only thing i will grant their - and it also applies to Bowes - is Geel historically win alot of games of football - so given that fact - those 2 players are in the best possible position to excel as footballers - simply because they are playing for Geel - who win alot of games

I know we can't keep him. But he's contracted till oct 31. If we don't get a fair trade he can go to the PSD and join in the chorus. Or fly high like an eagle.
Which Ollie won't do. As I've said elsewhere, Ollie actually enjoys being at the Pies - he just wants to play closer to home with Jack. However we won't be lowballed in this instance. We may have been with Stephenson and Treloar but the nufties in charge back then are gone now.

You owe us for only giving #44 for Carl Steinfort in the 2000 draft, He wanted to stay at Geelong too.

He was keen to continue with Geelong, but left when contract negotiations could not be concluded. He had a steady and consistent first year at Collingwood and missed just four games due to minor ankle and leg injuries

While people are mentioning Nick Daicos. Just want to say he will win a Brownlow and maybe even next year. He can dominate a game the way Gary Ablett Jnr did. Ollie Henry would be pissed off if he gets to Geelong and Collingwood wins the flag next year.
Much as I rate and like Collingwood, they would do well just making the 8 next year, imho. Coming from behind all the time to win games is hugely taxing.

So due to the AFL draft rules, if we are forced to conjure another FR2 and we cannot, and hence we are forced to trade for one of either Bruhn or O Henry?

Who would you prioritise to trade in?

If we went Bruhn, then use Pick 7 to get Humphrey instead. Get a midfielder, and then Forward/Midfielder.

But knowing that the club has J Henry, I suspect we might try to prioritise O Henry with the aim for J Clark in the draft, and Bruhn will be just cherry on the top.

Not exactly that simple though

While there's some clubs that need points this year (such as Brisbane with Ashcroft for sure to be bidded on), clubs can't just load up on late picks to be used for matching

Clubs need to have the available list spots spot the number of picks they take into the draft - at one stage the AFL was allowing an additional 1 or 2 picks to help cover required points, but a teams not really going to want 3 or 4 later picks where they likely won't have access to all of them come draft night

FWIW many Pies fans would accept 18

Wait. What?
What are we talking about here?

Cooper Stephens.

It has been suggested in the media that clubs should target Stephens to get back at us for targeting players from elsewhere.

If the club would be willing to let Cooper go in a trade I would be extremely confident that they dont see him making it and the joke would be on the club that targets him.

As I said somewhere else, the PSD threat is more an implied one. Rarely used but can't be ignored
It'll be the ND not the PSD.

He simply doesn't want to play for Collingwood. In simple terms 'you have one too many flogs on your list'.

Why? He wouldnt have been playing for them with all the players they brought in.

I would agree about Ablett - In Kelly's case there was the added complication of family back in perth.
Ollie is single and Geelong is only an hour down the road.
the appeal of playing alongside Jack if fair - and Collingwood might be sympathetic to that (for a fair price of course)
Brothers in the same team is very special. Sadly the Brownes didn't quite work, but The Daicos's, McCartins, Guthries playing together are a great feature of our game , and having been to the same school the Henrys went to, I would love to see Ollie end up where he has always hankered to play, with Jack.

My understanding is that we cant trade both F1 and F2, is that wrong?

Pies board saying we can't do that due to AFL rules, we will need to get a FR2. I don't know the specifics of that rule. Sounds like you need a minimum F2 if you trade out F1?
