On the other hand, I consider PO and TC to be in the upper echelon of quality posters here, and listen quite happily to their musings about the trade period because they're so well versed in its mechanics and how the system works.

Such debate and discussion is one reason this site exists.

As I just posted... everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Hey, I like people having a dip.

I also like lolling at people when they get it wrong.

More credit to people to keep fronting up and sharing opinions / info if they cop a bit of heat for getting something wrong and don't go into hiding.

We all support Geelong and want the best for the side.

We are all in a bloody damn good spot atm.

The more posts the better IMO... They create good convos, keep them coming everyone.

How about a poll, players coming to Geelong:
Bowes - yes
Bruhn - yes
Henry - no
The Irishman - no

PO and Turbo are quality posters and this forum is so much better for their presence here.

Something along the lines of the compensation they've received for trading ? (didn't catch the name) vs the salary they were paying him ......

Not sure how / why that impacts the Henry deal......probably just Browne making it up.

I doubt we're offering Henry huge money, so maybe we're yet to offer the first round pick?

Or we've offered the first and the Pies are just being ****heads

OR the most likely of them all, Browne making it all up as you said.

as II may just have a more old fashioned view to it, but I see people say "What spot do they take!!" when discussing all the potential kids we have coming in, as far 'm concerned, who cares... They are young highly rated kids... I'm not for gifting games, we have a bloody good side, if they crack in over preseaon and force themselves in Rd 1 then brilliant, if they build for a year in the 2s then that is fine...

I know the current world needs instant gratification, but the high pick talent we are all over is as much a long term thing as it is a short term... The success of any trade absolutely isn't dependent on the next 12 months

What a load of over confident nonsense

So youd buy some shares would you mate - just chuck the share certificates in the bottom draw - and look at them in a couple of years - and all willl be good

I’ve explained my comments re Holmes. Think I was pretty clear how that played out.

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

IIRC you said he was good to go and you were correct , the decision not to play him was classic risk management - a fear that , although healthy, he may breakdown during the game.

Interestingly we spoke with Josh Jenkins at a function on Friday evening - he didn't give away much but did say he believed Holmes would be "fit". We got the feeling with that answer that he wouldn't be selected :(

I hope you're right about Bowes - I think he'll be very good and P7 is a huge bonus :thumbsu:
