Tigers won a flag then got Tom Lynch so i don't think other clubs should be grizzling about our success on and off the field.

As for the draft, I love left-footers so I'm keen on Phillipou. Clark would be good albeit similar to others on our list from what i can see.
In any event at 7 we'll surely snag a good player.

We were lucky with injuries this season so we may see new players get more opportunities next year even though we won the flag. Neale is surely ready to go; Bruhn, Henry and Bowes obviously; and Cooper S may yet surprise us.

Would absolutely love to know who it is - as he knew before everyone, and ruled out 16 other clubs (included Hawthorn afterwards so 15) before anyone even knew Bowes was looking to leave. That's what made me take notice. Different if he picks us when there's a trade out there, as everyone does that...but no-one even knew about Bowes, and this was before Pick 7 - so he ruled out 16 other clubs and knew Essendon and Geelong were involved. Only person I can imagine with that kind of knowledge, would be another one of the prominent player managers like Connors (but obvs not Connors in this scenario), IMO

Always paid the piper to get a deal done, always let guys go when they wanted to, and rarely dug in our heels.

Was only 15-20 years ago we couldn't get anyone to move here, regardless of what we offered.

Amazing what happens when you get your s**t together on and off field and what it does for attracting players.

Geelong as a region is a better proposition than it was back then as well. I'm old so I liked what Torquay/Jan Juc used to be like but all of the development certainly has made them top rate communities to live in.

Having a first class boutique stadium & facilities certainly helps as well - part of that getting shit together off field.

We're in such a good space. If there's a photo of Harley, Ling & Selwood together they should make a statue of it.
