Top 10 in our range, in order of preference - combined with who I think Wells and co. will select if available:

1. Jhye Clark
2. Cam Mackenzie
3. Bailey Humphrey
4. Elijah Tsatas
5. Jedd Busslinger
6. Elijah Hewett
7. Reuben Ginbey
8. Mattaes Phillipou
9. Brayden George (would not surprise me as he's such a Wells pick)
10. Ed Allan (smokey of the draft)

Only 10 or so more days of this speculation left - getting close now!
No one could ever think what Wells is thinking

No I don’t expect phillipou to go in the 30’s.
Someone will sucked in and take him early.

But seriously. Anyone, anyone, go look at the Ashcroft and phillipou vids back to back and try and convince yourself phillipou deserves to be within 6 picks of Ashcroft.

It’s just chalk and cheese.

One looks to take off, has poor disposal and doesn’t care where the ball ends up.

The other wins the ball and immediately looks for an option and gut runs to get it again and then finish.

Look, I know we can’t get Ashcroft. But my point is they are moons apart.

In response to your other question about what we sell pick 7 for?
I have no idea what clubs have. But something like pick 15 this year and next years first round.

That you think Ashcroft is a lot better tha Phil. Fine. Do not disagree... but in the end Id say they will not be too far from each other in this draft.. something like 5 to 15 spots. Just depends on who likes him. He might go to Ess . He might go to Carlton etc.. Id prefer us not to take him.

... if we could get R1 this year and a R1 next year it would have to be considered carefully

I've done this a few times now

My preference

1. Jhye Clark
2. Trade for a future 1st
3. Trade to bulldogs for 11 and 23
4. Trade to swans for 14 and 17
5. Trade to giants for 15 and 18
6. Busslinger
7. Ed Allan
Haven't heard even the faintest whisper the club intends to trade picks. The opposite in fact.

Ed Allen.

Ed Allen.

AFL draft 2022: Geelong Cats emerge as potential suitor for Claremont bolter Ed Allan, son of ex-Docker Ben

I could see that we would like him...as I think he is a size and has a set of number that we would like. It just depends on how we rate him to others I guess. Certainly a bolter but a 194cm size mid...pretty good chance he could play multiple positions.

My only concern would be the same as any from WA. The Go home factor when WC is low on the ladder

Of course if one was into the logic on the grassy knoll was really a spot to practice for the moon landings and Donald trump is really a result of MK-Ultra experiments ...

Letting West Coast know that we are interest in Allen would not hurt if they were desperate for him.. Just what would they trade for P7 if they want him?

I know he’s a good footballer
I just don’t think we need another 1 trick midfielder
He can mark overhead, which is handy, but he does scream an inside-mid mostly.

I would prefer buss or mckenzie over ginbey by far.

Don’t rate Ginbey?
I think Ginbey is decent, and I can see why clubs are interested. However, I am not sure he reads the play well enough to accumulate. Maybe he does, what was his stats at the U18 champs for WA? His WAFL and Colts stats don't scream much.

What did he do at the U18 Champs?

I'd love Charlie Clarke too.
Looks like a typical Richmond selection, very good for the flea squad... Nifty and goal sneaky. Good finisher. Yeah, I would take him if we had spare picks in the range, but don't think we will. I think with Miers, Stengle, Henry, Dempsey, Close all a part of next gen, maybe its a lesser priority.

In those wafl and colts games he played as a 3rd tall defender majority of the time. Averaged 21.8 in the champs games and won MVP for his state.

Collingwood would go for Clarke with pick 25 I reckon, for sure. He seems like the type they want, after losing O Henry, and perhaps a smaller forward is a better mix-up given their preference for Johnson as the medium.

Yes...I remember one "pundit" on here repeatedly potted Blicavs, often with the claim that he was "an athlete, not a footballer."

Laughable...
Hey I did that… on more than one occasion.
Still think he is more athlete than footballer.
Finally played a great season with a role that suited us to a T.
Kudos to him.
